you won't be able to switch to fido to get the 6gb plan from retention as you'll be considered a new customer. but i'm also willing to bet fido will have the 6gb for $30 bux again when iphone 5 comes out. and fido will be rolling out their LTE simcards within the coming weeks. i wonder if they need to switch to a LTE data plan like rogers lol.. there's also a cheap way to get out of a rogers or fido contract nowadays :D but i'll leave it at that :)

Your guys' thoughts on the Nexus vs the S3 LTE? I am signing up with Rogers to get the plan, and I have the choice of these two phones.

Right now for the Nexus I get a $50 giftcard, and the phone is free - whereas it's $159 for the S3 and no giftcard.

What do I choose?

EDIT: It is also a choice between LTE and no LTE... I am torn. :(

why not sign up on fido then? nexus is $30 with 150 giftcard vs s3 on rogers which u can prolly still get for $129 with no giftcard

Awesome possum.

was paying $65 + $8 CID + HST + $2 Gov't fee = $84 for the same plan.

Called in and asked them how much to cancel. Gave them some BS story about how I'm always in Richmond and Wind's zone limitation works fine for my work/life habits. Threw them the Wind40 plan for comparison.

They immediately throw me to relations and offer me $10 credit til the end of my contract. They also switch me to the $60 plan.

So now i'm paying $60 + $8 CID - $10 Credit + HST = $65

$20 dollar savings for a 20 min call. Well worth it.

Didn't have to resign my contract either.

Fido is not offering the plan... otherwise I would. I get a killer EPP from Fido, Rogers is not as good for EPP benefits. :okay:

i got the exact plan as you did but i only got a $5 credit. i received a confirmation email from rogers stating the changes. it says that the caller id is number only. is that the norm? and how much more is it to slap the name feature on there? or should i upgrade it to the iphone value pack and see if i can get more credit added on?

what's the epp on fido? isn't rogers 40% off regular plans? sure fido doesn't have the 6gb plan as a $30 addon but i'm sure by the time iphone 5 rolls around it'll exist again. i mean when that happens the regular $30 voice + $30 6gb data is just as good since it has unlimited incoming on it with international texting.

roastpuff 08-02-2012 11:10 AM

Fido is 50% off everything, whereas Rogers is 40% off the main plan, but not add-ons.

PUPPY 08-02-2012 04:25 PM

didn't even have to resign a contract so im going to finish off my last 8 months with this 6 gb plan . $10 more a month for 5 GB data

ForbiddenX 08-05-2012 09:49 PM

Has anyone had any success getting free CID when singing up as new customer?

edit:
nvm I think I might just go with bell and do MTM for now lol.

Just switched over to Bell from Wind.

Apparently they only waive off the $35.00 activation fee if you get a new phone, but since I brought in my own phone I get 10% off my bill every month. CID + VM we're an extra $7.00. But with the 10% off I practically get it for free. In total I should be paying around 68 bucks/month.

steel_chain619 08-06-2012 05:15 PM

^ act fee is waived if you bring in your own phone too

I asked about if they waive the cancellation fee, but they don't. But iirc, when this promo first came out I may have seen an ad where they do waive it off. But on the site, promo states there is a one-time $35.00 activation fee.

Maybe I missed out..:okay:

!MiKrofT 08-07-2012 08:50 PM

Just renewed with the super plan.

$60 + $7 cid/basic vm - $10 credit.
