Rogers 6GB Super Plan ! $60/mo

hey guys a month ago i started a thread asking where i can get the cheapest 6gb data plan for under $60 and everyone thought that was kind of impossibru. 6GB is a $60 ADD ON from Telus. Fido and the other networks do not offer 6GB.
Thread: http://www.revscene.net/forums/66981...hone-deal.html

yesterday Rogers announced the 6GB Super Plan and its only here for a limited time only. (until august 8th) . i know a few people wanted 6gb plans too so i decided to start a thread instead of replying to the other thread so it would draw more attention. Before someone asks, no i do not work for Rogers.

6 GB Super Plan
All this for $60/moħ. Includes all monthly fees!
6 GB of data 1
Unlimited Canada-wide MY10 calling 2
Unlimited messaging 3
Unlimited 6PM evening & weekend calling 4
200 weekday minutes 5
All on Canada's first LTE network 6
Sauce: http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wireless-campaigns

6GB for LTE is pretty damn good. On top of that you can also get a Galaxy S3 for $159 or a One X for $129.

IMO jump on this while you can. if you dont want it down the road you can always sell it on craigslist or easily find someone who would want to take over it.

In b4 moblicity/wind users saying that wind/mobilicity offers unlimited data for a cheaper price.

Enjoy!

Not a bad price for a publicly available plan, but you can do much better through retentions.

When you say other networks don't offer 6GB plans, that's somewhat incorrect. They offer it from time to time, just not regularly... but when they do, it's usually $30, or the same as the regular 1GB price.

So when it becomes available, you can just add it and it'll stay on your plan forever.

Virgin and Bell also launched their own $60/6GB plans in response this morning:

Virgin:
Unlimited Incoming Calls
300 Anytime Minutes (Rogers has 200)
unlimited Weekends & Early Evenings starting at 5pm
Unlimited Canada, U.S., & International Text and Picture Messaging,
6GB data (additional data is $10/GB)

Bell:
6GB data
200 Anytime minutes
Unlimited nationwide talk with any 10 numbers
Unlimited text, picture and video messaging
Unlimited local evenings starting at 6pm

Waiting for Telus to respond; if one of them offers Caller ID with it I am jumping on it.

You positive? I want to switch as it's nearly identical to my current plan (except mine has CID and VM for the same price), but I have absolutley no intentions of renewing my contract. Once I'm done with my current 3 year contract, I'm gone.

JordanLee 07-18-2012 02:03 PM

8$ CID is robbery for such a nice plan like that.

i have my chat with the rogers person and i made her repeat that there were to be NOTHING touched besides my voice and data plan

FN-2199 07-18-2012 02:48 PM

That's pretty good LTE plan! I had pretty much the exact same thing before I received a reduced employee pricing. I used to pay about $87 for the plan that also included visual voice mail, and an extra 100 minutes.

ilovebacon 07-18-2012 02:57 PM

Damn, if only this was for rogers. Mine is 89$ 500mb with value pack, 200mins and unlimited call thru weekends.

:seriously: umm, it is for Rogers.

Renthal 07-18-2012 03:00 PM

i guess just remember to ask for your interaction number when speaking with the rogers rep over the phone so you have some recourse if they try to screw you in the end and add stuff on you didnt ask for.

TOPEC 07-18-2012 03:10 PM

so i just called and heres how it went,
i asked abt the $60 plan, and told the rep i wanna switch something, i need to add VM and CID, and if he can change the my10 to network calling, he said no so i asked if i can add network calling, he said sure let me take a look, oh its $40 on top for canadawide unlimited local calls, i repeat i want just network calling, YUP this is exactally what u want, unlimited local calling canada wide even for bell and telus.... thinking to myself, r u fking kidding me i asked network calling between fido and rogers not canada wide local calling... then i repeat i want network calling between rogers and fido, OH THAT, thats $10 on top, so total is $60+10+12.99 which is 90...

think im gonna just settle for $60+CID and VM

Razor Ramon HG 07-18-2012 03:25 PM

Still expensive.

Alatar 07-18-2012 05:14 PM

I switched back from Virgin yesterday.

$60 6gb plan
$7 CID/VM

Called in today and said "Um, Bell has the same plan now, and offers 10% off monthly bill when you bring your own phone, and they waive the activation fee"

He gave me another $5 credit for 24 months (I'm month to month).

$62 + tax, $69.44 taxes in, no contract to be tied down to, and I can still buy a phone/do a 3 year term at some point if I want (which I won't, realistically, unless it's another Nexus device that I can just buy out the "revenue recovery" on)

kluk 07-18-2012 05:18 PM

yeah i just called and i'll probs switch over. Thanks for the post!

I currently have:
1GB data
200 minutes
unlimited weekend and after 6pm
unlimited text
CID, voicemail, and all that crap

paying like 67$ after taxes.

What i'll do is probably get that 6GB plan and just add on CID for 9$.

PornMaster 07-18-2012 06:02 PM

Rogers treats their business customers well. If you have a "small" business you can get it.

I have 2 lines

6gb data each line
1500 shared minutes
eve weekend 6
unlimited incoming
Unlimited text
CID VM (100 international text, rogers live and other stupid stuff)

$150 tax in

mb_ 07-18-2012 06:51 PM

Just changed my plan.. My bill will pretty much be the same but at least I get 6GB of data instead of 1 and MY10 :fuckyea:

bobbinka 07-18-2012 07:10 PM

as mentioned in your original thread, you can get 6GB plans for $50 from fido and rogers, just need to call in to bargain.

free caller ID, free voicemail, 5pm evenings. no LTE, but $56 after tax.

bell actually also have unlimited incoming calls and on top of that 10hrs free mobile tv that does not go against data. so Bell is still the cheaper of the 3 right now. Rogers if you go to certain stores have S3 with $50 isc and no activation fee just a heads up.
