Cops won't do a thing. This exact thing happened to a friend of mine (not at Celebrities but still) and the police basically said there isn't anything they can do.
My advice? It's gone. Buy a new phone. Don't lose your phone next time.
If the guy isn't responding, you can assume they aren't trying to get it back. If you REALLY want the phone back...well, if you have their address with Find my iPhone, harass the shit out of them until they give it back. Make sure anything you do can't be pinned on you. Have Churches deliver 100 boxes of chicken with a note that says "I know you have a phone that doesn't belong to you." or something...be creative.
...okay, maybe don't do those things. I just wanted to see what would happen. |

Also I found a flower print clutch with blackberry in it (I didn't open the clutch, i held it wrong way and cell phone fell out) on that pathway thingy on the right side leading to the stage
I returned it to the bouncer right away and he gave it to coat check girls. Hope the owner picks that one up too. | I admire your honesty, but you were better off trying to get into contact with the owner (unless that was not possible and you didn't wanna hold her stuff all night). The coat check girls are now the new owners of a blackberry and a clutch purse and whatever else was inside

Keep in mind, if you resort to any shenanigans such as ordering 100 pizzas, they have all your info in the phone already. They can also easily find out who you are and such, so it could get messy.
on a lighter note, reminds me of this:

stolen and lost property are two very different things, since your g/f lost her phone she can only ask for it back or offer a reward
but if it's stolen then you might have a case for the property crimes unit, non emergency # is your best bet

Go to their house and politely ask for the phone back. If they say they bought it off someone, offer as much money as your willing to lose to get the phone back. If they refuse that offer, tell them the phone will be useless since you will lock the serial of the phone anyways.

and how accurate is findmyiphone tracking?
You could possibly be going to the neigbouring house of where your phone is actually located...just some thought if you do confront and they said they dunno wtf you talking about. That's why it's helpful to have front cam image cap if possible.

If the phone has not been turned off yet and still traceable via icloud then i would go to the location and politely ask for the phone. while i'm there i'd use icloud to send a sound that would play for a couple minutes like you lost your phone and hopefully it will ring while you are in the premises. If it rings and they refuse to give it to you then call the cops on the spot.
if its turned off then you are SOL buy a new phone.
Has reporting a stolen/lost phones IMEI ever worked? i was under the impression that the carriers do NOT disable the phones regardless.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my phone go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." |

I know this doesnt add anything to the thread, but I've never understood how people can lose their phones clubbing. These days EVERYTHING is on a person's phone, you'd think that you'd hang onto it as tight as your wallet.
I can understand if you take it out to snap pictures and someone bumps you and it drops into the hundreds of people in the crowd... If its an alcohol related loss, well... Maybe your gf should watch how much she drinks
Either way, hopefully she gets it back. I know what it's like to lose pictures you wont be able to get again

^^correct, carriers wont block the imei. They most the will do is block on their own network, and that rarely occurs.
