I would like to eventually lessen my meat consumption and make my happiness/diet less dependent on far raised animals. As a foodie, i have an interest not just what is on the plate, but how it got there as well. Our North American diet is totally not sustainable, i would like to do my part as the "chef" and "food guru" of my friends to explore sustainable, healthy choices.
Perhaps you would be willing to share done of what you eat in the Food/Dining section? I think we can branch off done of this discussion there. |
Thanks, Culverin.
In actuality, the transition took very little resolve, it was more, finding the path that was right for me, and there was a massive burden lifted off my shoulders when I did.
Trying to increase your connection with your foods source is very admirable, I do my best to do that as well. There's sadly quite a significant detachment between the farmer and consumer in regards to meat since animals need to be inspected and slaughtered at government licensed facilities. The process almost mandates a third or fourth party separating the consumer from the products source, unlike having the option of buying vegetables at a farmers market or seafood off the dock.

If he was going around, like most vegans, saying that this is how humans are 'supposed' to eat, then I would have an issue. But if he feels better about not eating certain things, who cares? |
Thank you, SkinnyPupp. I appreciate the support.
It's the 'PETA vegans' that go around lecturing people using conjecture for the most part, and the image they create tends to negatively reflect on all of us. The vegans I choose to associate with are all pretty reasonable and tend to not vocalize their opinions unless someone inquires.
