Just went for a quick boot around Marine Drive to Spanish Banks. On my way back on the UBC Highway, I saw cars on right lane flying by and suddenly change lanes to passing lane.

What do I see? I saw a 49cc scooter, wearing almost all dark clothing, no reflectors, dimly-lit taillight putting along on that lane doing 56 km/h (I clocked him )

Didn't have the heart to ignore that situation so I pulled behind and putted along with him since I'm more visable, thew on my hazards and escorted him till the 50km zone.

all this time he was looking back in his mirror wondering why I was following, I think I spooked him cus he couldn't stay in position 3 without wandering all over.

oh well hope he gets home safely.

(but we should be sure of what is the problem first before throwing parts at it)

if its overcharging, then its the R/R.
and if its not charging it then its the stator.

or the plugs/wires could be fried.

tomorrow i have to run a check on my charging system. it's not charging my battery so i need to figure out if its the r/r or the stator. thankfully the site in that video has them cheap.

120 for the stator and 99 for the r/r for me.

had a quick look for your bike, they don't have a stator, but they have a plug'n'play r/r for 109.... but i just noticed it says out of stock :c

mine is a 07.

my bike is at the shop getting diagnosed now. Still waiting for a call back on the verdict.

ive read that people have used the mosfet r/r for a r1 and relocated the r/r to a new location.

Just curious, where do you plan to relocate your reg rec?
I had mine replaced and relocated right next to my non cut frame slider. So far no problems, just some food for thought.

ya i was planning on the left side of the frame by the frame slider.

shop just called. its the r/r that needs to be replaced, and only option is OEM right now, since the aftermarket ones are out of stock for awhile. I told them to go ahead with it and relocate it to the side.

Im bikeless until tuesday

Well, I did something I should have been doing my frequently: I lubed my chain (for the first time).

I am very anal about detailing and keeping everything I own like new... I used some rubber/plastic friendly degreaser, a toothbrush and an awful lot of elbrow grease and I got the chain looking like new in about an hour... I then applied chain lube.... an awful lot of chain lube.... maybe a gallon.... today I got to use my degreaser to get the excess lube off of the wheel, tire, fairings and everywhere else it was sprayed... lol... good learning experience for me and I don't care if it makes me look like a newbie.

So I went to look at a bike today cash in hand with the intentions of taking it home with me. The owner left out one little tid bit, bike has been sitting for two years battery is dead so I can't start it up...........FML, I mean that's kind of important information when I'm asking you if there is anything the bike needs and you say no it's mint. I'm not even worried about the battery I'm more worried that it's been sitting for two years. The lady who owned didn't even do it maliciously she was just unaware, I wasn't really mad more annoyed.

I had my bike sold buyer flakes out after stringing me a long for a week. I had another bike lined up a few weeks ago guy changes his mind on selling it when I show up to buy it even after I talked to him twice within an hour of meeting him.

Honestly, I get the biggest flakes buying and selling I can't win. So frustrated with the whole process of buying and selling. [/rant]

I'm seriously considering cancelling my insurance and writing off the rest of this year and waiting for a good deal this Dec/Jan.

Do not buy OR sell a a vehicle out of frustration. I have before and it still fucking bugs me. You won't get what you want and you WILL regret not waiting.

I usually make it very clear via CL that I don't play games lol
