Russell Wilson cooks for the Giants. 1 year, 10.5 million US of guaranteed money.
-potential for Russ to earn $21 million.

-happy to see my Pats sign Stefon Diggs. If his knee is 100 percent, Diggs gives some punch to the New England offence.

whitev70r 03-26-2025 08:57 AM

^ that sounds about right for Wilson .. ~ $10M/yr for a SB winning QB a decade ago, can still hand off the ball, veteran presence, can hype up a team, lobs it up in the air 30 yrds downfield for whichever player (your team or the other) can jump the highest, has a famous & hot wife, and will lose 3/4 of the last 8 games of the season.

hahaha Wilson needs to retire, let Russ cook became Russ is cooked soooooooooo fast

The main issue with Diggs is he's a bit of a cancerous player, he's more of a me guy than a team guy, and in his eyes he's more important than the team. As long as their getting him the ball consistently, probably not an issue but if he isn't the number one guy, or if he feels he isn't getting the ball enough he'll rot that team from the inside out.

It's the reason he's no longer a Viking, or a Bill, not sure about how he was on the Texans.

whitev70r 04-02-2025 07:42 PM

Finally !! So now both teams get to touch the ball in OT, even if first team scored TD. Which seems more fair to me.

pastarocket 04-03-2025 08:13 AM

It's about time there is a rule change for overtime. -fair for both teams to touch the ball even if one team scored a touchdown on their first possession in OT.

https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2025/4/...ickoffs-replay

This is a pretty big rule change off the field in terms of free agency:

Free agency changes: PASSED

This is the biggest off-field element of the new rule changes. It allows for teams to conduct meeting with players over Zoom (which is fairly minor), but much more importantly allows teams to schedule meetings with free agents before the Legal Tampering Period begins.

These meetings can be scheduled before the league year opens, which means we could see top free agents begin to tip their hands as soon as the Super Bowl is over. Yes, this means the league year is going to feel even longer, and there’s going to be more data to track.

-thoughts about the NFL draft?

-liking the potential of the Patriots draft pick:

Wild start, with the Jags trading up to get the only superstar of the draft class. Browns were smart to do it because they HAD to pick him, but they also were not the right fit for him. So why not get a bunch of picks you desperately need instead? Also good for the Jags, as he is a legit superstar and a 2 way player so they basically got two 1st round picks for the price of one.

Packers taking their first 1st round WR in 20+ years was a great moment since it was in GB. Dude comes across like a big time star too

Giants trading back into the first round to get Jaxon Dart (not Shadeur!) was a cool moment. Shadeur continues to fall

Ravens about to pick now. Hoping it's Malakai Starks but they go with whoever they think is the best player available, no matter what position.

Edit: They got him! Malakai Starks and Kyle Hamilton LFGGGGGGGGG

Biggest story may be Shadeur Sanders (son of Deion) dropping like a rock on the draft

As soon as the Steelers didn't take him he was probably not going to get drafted today. Pretty sure he knew as he didn't even go to the draft lol

Jags’ big trade to get two way player Travis Hunter is huge for sure.

-from NFL.com:

One of college football's best players on both sides of the ball, Hunter enters the NFL from Colorado lugging a trophy case filled to the brim with hardware. An All-American in both seasons with the Buffaloes, Hunter is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, took home the Walter Camp Player of the Year award in 2024, the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's best wide receiver and the Bednarik Award as the nation's top defender.

The dual-threat played a whopping 1,460 snaps last season, an average of 111.5 per game, as a full-time WR and CB. No one else has averaged over 78 snaps per game in the past decade, per NFL Research. Playing corner, Hunter collected a career-best four interceptions and 11 passes defensed in 2024. On offense, he had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns, all of which ranked top five in the FBS.

Mykel Williams is gonna be a great player for the 49ers. Co worker of mine, a 49ers fan, is happy to see him play for San Fran.

Good height. Needs to get stronger. Great explosive athleticism. Bosa and Saleg will be good mentors to help Williams improve his game.

As my co-worker described Williams, "Mykel is gonna be a dawg".

Crazy how few QBs were picked up in the first round.

Sanders will definitely get nabbed next round.

SkinnyPupp 04-25-2025 03:58 PM

Saints finally went QB!

They said it was a weak QB draft going in and they weren't lying. The constant Sanders talk really is annoying. Why not wait until someone drafts him before talking about him?

Even when the Titans picked Cam Ward first overall, they were talking about fucking Sanders who will probably be a 3rd round pick.

SkinnyPupp 04-25-2025 07:07 PM

Love Jalen Milroe for Seattle. Obviously not this season, but if he develops he could be amazing. He's one of the few college players I'd go out of my way to watch last season

SkinnyPupp 04-25-2025 07:31 PM

OK I thought the attention Sanders got for not being drafted in the first 2 rounds was overblown, but not even getting drafted on day 2 is pretty wild.

I didn't know his college team retired his number, to give you an idea of the type of circus these teams are wanting to avoid. Even the Brownies are like no way not again.

SkinnyPupp 04-25-2025 08:18 PM

To give you another idea of what kind of circus you'd get if you drafted this guy

(yes that's real)

whitev70r 04-26-2025 11:19 AM

He got picked by the Browns in Round 5 ... finally. I just know he will have a great character guy for a mentor there in Deshaun Watson.

What a shit take :lol

whitev70r 04-26-2025 01:03 PM

I don't understand the Browns, they have Pickett, Flacco, Watson. In the 3rd round, they picked a QB Dillon Gabriel from Oregon.

Then in the 5th round, they picked Shedeur Sanders ... ??!! Someone thinks Deion paid Cleveland to pick him to save face ... :lol.

It's not like you got picked in the top 5.

OK, now we don't have to talk about him anymore.

SkinnyPupp 04-26-2025 02:13 PM

Of course it was the fucking Browns LUL

At least they didn't use their first round pick on him. That would be the most Browns thing ever

pastarocket 04-26-2025 02:50 PM

Shadeur goes to the QB graveyard of the Browns hahaha.

Why is he so happy? Sanders, you're playing for the Browns. :lawl:

Daddy Deion said that his boy would be a top 5 pick. I think that Deion meant that his son would be a fifth round pick. LUL

SkinnyPupp 04-26-2025 03:49 PM

Kenny Pickett is likely the starter

Joe Flacco will be backing him up

Deshaun Watson is hurt and the team is done with him, the GM saying he was a mistake

Dillon Gabriel drafted in round 3, so should be QB3

Browns better get ready to hear from Trump if they don't play Sanders above all these guys! EleGiggle

SkinnyPupp 04-26-2025 05:28 PM

Also of note is the Ravens drafted a kicker, in case you are wondering how that is going to go

quasi 04-28-2025 07:01 AM

I know he made a lot of money in college but not going in the top 5 like his dad thought to where he was drafted at 144 he lost somewhere between 30-40 million guaranteed salary.

Maybe this humbles him? Probably not, I think he washes out of the league in two years. I don't pretend to be an expert on College talent but when reportedly there are a bunch of teams that didn't even have him on their board at any spot tells you all you need to know from the people who do evaluate talent for a living.
