Bills win! What a comeback win for Buffalo!

That Derrick Henry fumble was the turning point of the game haha.

Your thoughts on the game and your Ravens,
Skinny? :troll:

Typical season opener for Ravens defense, plus a rare fumble by Henry. I'll let other fans freak out about this and that. Lamar, Henry, Flowers, all were amazing. DHop was great! Defense other than Hamilton and the new LB #40 were bad.

Crazy game, with the experience somewhat ruined by some awful commentary, but you can't choose who to listen too unless it's on radio.

pastarocket 09-07-2025 07:55 PM

Props to Josh Allen. He played awesome in this comeback win against the Ravens.

394 yards in passing. He threw for two TDs and ran for two TDs. A generational quarterback based on his skill set?

Yah, first 3 quarters were all Ravens, they looked like a well oiled machine in mid season form but then 4th quarter ... things started going Bills' way. Without a doubt, both teams are top tier. Will have to wait to see them battle it out in the playoffs again but great football game. For the fans of both teams ... a bit of a heart attack.

Any other notables in Week 1?
1. KC lost ... good.
2. LV > NE ... Pasta, thoughts?
3. Rodgers wins in debut with gold and black, did pretty decent for a >40 yo QB. Fields was decent for NYJ as well.
4. NYG ... talking about benching Russell Wilson already.
5. Sam Darnold era in Seattle ... if this is a sign of things to come, not going to end well.
6. GB looking like a good team on both ends, offense and defence. They should rise to the top.

SkinnyPupp 09-07-2025 08:46 PM

I woke up at 1:30 to watch the games, 11 hours ago now, so my brain is a bit mush now.. let's see

Brownies almost beat the Bungles, if only their kicker could kick. I said from the start that they'll hire Tucker since he fits in perfectly with their culture, so watch for that now

I predicted Miami to be the dumpster fire team of the year, and that's looking good so far

Steelers/Jets similar to Ravens/Bills with just a mental game with shit defense on both sides. Cannot expect either team to score like this again

Giants O-line STINKS and Russ is not the answer. I think Dart would get killed behind these guys

Seahawks look really rough on offense, and Purdy pissed down his leg in his first game as a top paid QB. McCaffery carried the team

Micah Parsons made an impact already, but the Lions did not look ready to start the season at all.

Then you have Ravens/Bills, and like I said, I'm not the type to have hot takes even after a crushing loss (I've even been accused of doing it to troll, but I promise you it's just how I am, even if I am having a heart attack during the game)

I see a lot of fans freaking out "fire the coach" and all that, but.. eh it was a 1 point game against possibly the other best team in the league that had a lot of things go the other way (not to excuse the bad play or play calls or clock management). Dropped INTs, a deflected pass leading to a TD on a 4th down attempt, a once in a blue moon fumble by Henry. Any one of those doesn't happen, and everyone is celebrating.

I just have to hope the actual things that can be controlled are improved upon, because obviously there was some bad play and coaching, so that kind of fluke shit doesn't cause them to lose a game they should have won.

The Patriots offence needs to better. A lot better in order for the team to win games.

Drake Maye threw an interception that lead to a Raiders touchdown.

New England was just 4 of 14 on third down in coach Mike Vrabel's debut. The Patriots rushed 18 times for only 60 yards.

Joe Burrow out 3 months with a broken toe. You know I want to smash the Bungles, but not like this. I have massive respect for Joe. This really sucks

Some wild games today, jesus christ

pastarocket 09-14-2025 09:08 PM

Mahomes and his team mates with a second straight loss. The Eagles defence played really well.

Worst start for Mahomey since he was a sophomore in high school.

Vikings with a comeback win against the Falcons.

A second straight comeback win for Minnesota.

:fulloffuck: are we looking at the same scores? I see Falcons 22 - Minnesota 6

Honestly, this week was a boring week, I didn't see any interesting games at all frankly. Maybe Superbowl rematch but that was kinda slow too ... nothing close to the Buffalo vs. Ravens excitement in week 1. That game is my vote of Game of the Year, I don't need to see any other games for the rest of the season to question that.

Of all games, maybe Giants and Cowboys caught my attention at the end, hoping the underdog with Russell would pull out the W (Dallas hate) .. :lol but alas, no.

Ravens dismantling Browns ... *yawn*
Detroit > Chicago, showing Ben Johnson that not all OC make good HC .... *yawn*
Buffalo over Jets ... another yawn
NE > Miami ... looked mildly interesting. Congrats to the new NE Pats for their 1st win.
Aaron Rodgers and Steelers euphoria after week 1 got dampened real quick. AR8 will lead the Steelers to a 9-8 or 8-9 record ... if that. But for $13M/yr contract, it is what it is.

What games did you think were 'interesting' skinny?

SkinnyPupp 09-14-2025 10:18 PM

Based on my watching today

Ravens vs Browns (I'll have the most to say about this obviously) - Browns defense is actually really good, especially on the ground. Ravens without Picard was always going to be tough (honestly I'm not sure how they handled the Bills so well), but the Brownies manhandled them and Henry couldn't move the ball. So they switched to an air attack and put a 40 burger on them by the end. I won't spam a bunch of Lamar highlights, but he made a couple amazing passes on the run. I had zero expectations for DHop, but he has been pretty amazing.

There was a point where the vibes were so bad, offense couldn't get going despite the Browns being even worse, they were only up 3-0. Guys were dropping balls, running wrong routes, Lamar overthrowing. So after a couple 3-and-outs, Dhop makes an insane catch at 0.5 yards, but the Browns then prevent the TD. Next series, Wiggins brings an interception down to around the 5 yard line, and it looks like the Browns are going to prevent another TD. 4th down Harbaugh catches the vibes and calls for them to go for it. They score and from then on the offense really started to take off, scoring 34 points (there was also a fumble return TD). This kind of thing is what makes him a great coach IMO, one of the best in the league. Love Flacco, but he was sad to watch FeelsBadMan

Giants vs Cowboys had an INSANE 4th quarter and finish, with Russ hooking Nabers up with some of the most beautiful deep passes you'll see. Tough to beat a team that has a kicker that can easily chip it in from 60+ though, especially when Russ is also prone to making bad mistakes

I caught some of the Seahawks game, where the Squealers kick returner let the ball go into the end zone.. where it stopped.. and then Seattle recovered it for a TD. All time dumb play, but it's the Steelers, what do you expect?

Afternoon games I only caught the first half of each. Chiefs going 0-2 is delicious, with Kelce dropping a TD for it to get picked. YUM YUM GIMME MORE OF THAT

Then we had the Vikings/Falcons which was... how can I put this nicely? A defensive battle? Put 2 rookies behind injured O lines, against really good defensive play callers, and this is what you get. People are calling JJ a bust already, but come on he is playing behind some walking pylons. He did look really bad at times though; flustered, rushed, tripping over his own feet, bad ball handling, bad ball placement, bad interceptions. So while it's way too soon to call it, he has a lot of work to do, to become the starter they need.

SkinnyPupp 09-15-2025 05:25 AM

It's 'official' 3 months minimum

Burrow has the worst injury luck. In a few weeks he will surpass Tua as having missed the most games due to injury, and I know Tua is the guy everyone uses as an example of someone who is injured all the time.

whitev70r 09-15-2025 06:26 AM

yah, he's a competitor and when he's on ... amazing to watch. never want a great player like this to be sitting on the sideline. Who's their backup? Do they have a chance to keep pace in the North or is this a pretty well free ride for Ravens to be Div champ.

My bad. You're right. Falcons beat the Vikings 22-6 haha

SkinnyPupp 09-15-2025 02:53 PM

Jake Browning is a very good backup, but you want him to play maybe 2-3 games at most, not 10.

It was funny watching the game yesterday though; Burrow goes out and the line does a much better job of protecting Browning, and they end up winning. Joe plays too much on the edge for the quality of linemen they have. It's kind of why he always gets hurt. Not that I'm blaming him, it's part of what makes him great. The GM should build the team around that.

Good ol' Ravens. The blackest team in the NFL.

68style 09-17-2025 08:54 AM

haha wtf they're tracking that shit? What was this guy the 47.5 president or something? The amount of knob gobbling he's post-humously getting is astounding. Fuckin podcaster!

They better have a pope-like ceremony if Joe Rogan ever dies ffs.

In football news, my Broncos got RIPPED THE FUCK OFF in the Indy game, holy shit I had to google what a leverage penalty even was... and even after combing through like 5 different angles of the replay I can't see what they're even talking about. What a garbage bullshit call.

Eff-1 09-17-2025 02:55 PM

Speaking of Indy, what do we think about a team owner standing on the sidelines wearing a headset and holding a clipboard??

Bro I support you and I would root for the Broncos over the Colts, but that was 100% a penalty. You simply cannot push the long snapper like that, it's extremely dangerous. People were coming out of there with broken necks, that's why they made the rule

https://i.imgur.com/VgOR7xq.png

And yeah, I was appalled that they did a moment of silence for that cuntbag before the Packers game - on 9/11! I was surprised to learn that most other teams did it as well on the following Sunday. Anyway, we don't need another topic on that, I just thought it was notable who didn't do it, including the good ol' Vikings

68style 09-18-2025 09:48 AM

Okay that's fair, I was looking for where they boosted one of their own players up in the air, which is what I had read the penalty was for.

whitev70r 09-19-2025 07:35 AM

The Dolphins drop off is serious ... they used to be an exciting team a couple of years ago. Maybe too many concussions for Tua?

Yes, you can see a regression in Tua's game for the past few seasons. It's very surprising to hear that Tua had the most passing years in the 2023 season. 4624 yards.

He threw for a paltry 146 yards yesterday against the Bills. -basically telegraphed his pass that lead to a Bills interception. Tua's eyes were just focussed on one team mate before he threw the pick.

Coach Mike McDaniel is definitely in the hot seat now with his team having
an 0-3 record to start the season.

mikemhg 09-19-2025 08:18 AM

Tua also has a weak arm, you can't throw long darts which is a big problem for a guy like Tyreek, that fast fucker needs longer accurate balls.
