I only bought my Wii a couple years ago when new super mario came out. I got many hours of gaming out of it with various games, and definately think I got my money's worth. I don't play it much because I finished all the games I own. Sure Wii-sports gets boring, but so does any game after a while. It's not like I play guitar hero on my PS2 anymore either.
The big thing is that my wife likes all the Nintendo platformers, which you can't get on a PS3 or XBox, and I wanted a system we would both play.

I don't want a Wii U, but I know I'll get one eventually. Why? Because Nintendo has been a part of me ever since I was 5 years old, and barring handhelds, or the cube, I've owned every majore console they release. Even if I don't play it after 2 weeks (re: wii).

What would be awesome is the possibilities they can do with the remote. Maybe make it wifi compatible so you could use it as a tablet? Or, if they put good speakers to it, and imagine you could turn it into an mp3 player/ media center so that you could watch movies, listen to audio, etc.

i just hope theyll have some "real" games on the WII-u. None of this crap where developers wont make a game for it or dub it down so much cause of the lack of power and throw on some weird ass motion crap that makes no sense like they did with the WII.....

The WiiU will have enough power to run the latest games. Don't think we'll see those types of games on the WiiU anymore.

The shitty thing about Nintendo is that I only like the few games that they make. I have been playing Mario Galaxy 2 lately and it's probably the most fun I've had playing a game in quite awhile. But other than that and maybe various other Mario games/Zelda I probably wouldn't play anything else which makes it hard to want a Wii U

Wii U is cool, tried it several months ago when I was in Japan, but not going to waste money on that.

I barely play my Xbox360... I just took it out for the new games that just game out..

I usually play on my PC...

i skipped the wii, so i decided to pick up the wii u. Nintendo games remind me of my old school gaming days.

i find myself only buying consoles for signature titles these days,

only reason I bought wii was for smash bros and zelda, and those are the only games I own, havent touched it since...

the new super mario bros is probably the best game on wii, and that title alone made the wii worth it.

I bought a ps3 because it was so overhyped, ended up only playing ff, which was shit anyway.

im pretty much done with consoles, they seem so worthless now, gone are the days of 2d mario, sonic, donkey kong and free roam final fantasies, ect ect...

now its all 3d motion sensor drivel, I cant seem to enjoy that shit. Even when I was playing skyward sword, the whole time I was like, this directional sword swiping shit is really ruining the game for me, give me a fucking gamecube controller.


PC's on the other hand, thats where real gaming lies, a mouse and keyboard will never change.

I wonder how much people are going to flip them for since almost every store has the pre-orders sold out...... Going to be like the previous Wii x-mas shortage or worse??

I think its pretty neat but I don't think I'll buy it anytime soon as I rarely use my Nintendo Wii. Maybe I'll buy it if they make a crazy awesome Zelda game.

I think Wii U is going to come in last place next-gen in terms of sales...unless they can sign deals with 3rd party titles in the form of GTA and CoD series

It isn't going to replicate its success of Wii because the economy looks very different from now then it was in 2006-2008..not to mention its priced $100 higher. People bought the Wii because it was fresh, constantly out of stock driving up the hype and most importantly very affordable. With the next-gen PS and XBOX likely not having $500+ price tags...this won't get as much luck as the Wii IMO

As soon as the next XBOX and PS come out, the Wii U is going to look extremely dated, just like the Wii does against the current ones.

I preordered one for my son for xmas, he's 6 and going to lose his shit. I'm getting Grandma to buy him a TV though because I don't want him tieing up mine.
