Nintendo Wii U

was just browsing Bestbuy webpage and came across with this.

Guess it's time to sell old Wii ?

Technology these days :fuckthatshit::megusta:

Price seems fair also

Spoon 09-14-2012 01:33 PM

Really want to see MS & Sony's response in regards to integrating the gaming system with home entertainment. While I won't be an early adopter, I can totally see myself owning one when the price goes down.

Great68 09-14-2012 01:44 PM

I wonder what one of those controllers will cost on their own? Like, what do you do for friends that want to come over and play?

twitchyzero 09-14-2012 01:58 PM

the controller will cost half of what the system costs
$150
better sell those NDS collecting dust if you wanna buy this :fuckthatshit:

Spoon 09-14-2012 02:04 PM

^
The controller's only an NDS slot away from insta-buy. It'll never happen, but that was what I was thinking of the the whole time I looked at the preview. :fullofwin:

Jsunu 09-14-2012 02:34 PM

I wasn't a fan of the controller when I played with it at pax, the screen wasn't the highest quality and the lack of multi-touch kinda bugged me. It was cool playing bits of the game on the gamepad though.

mos_skeeto 09-14-2012 02:51 PM

They won't sell the big pad separately until games are compatible with 2 which doesn't seem like it during the first few months. I want to pre-order and have it shipped. Wonder when amazon.ca will carry it.

terkan 09-14-2012 06:31 PM

i preordered the deluxe edition just for the sake of having one lol i doubt i'll ever play it for long just like my wii :okay:

SkinnyPupp 09-14-2012 08:47 PM

$350 is pretty steep...

This.

$350 buys you todays tech. Not even next gen.

But then again, Nintendo has always catered to a different type of gamer.

SkinnyPupp 09-14-2012 10:07 PM

Except this time they're not...

quasi 09-14-2012 10:57 PM

They taking preorders now? I promised my son one for X-mas......

Manic! 09-15-2012 01:08 AM

Start your hording. When the Wii came out there were shortages for 2 Christmases.

starting $299 sounds pretty damn fair to me for an updated Wii with a fancy controller and decent 3rd party games at launch.

it's not like canada's dollar is weak and they'll try and sell the 60GB PS3 for $699 x old 14% tax = $800 :fuckthatshit::denied:

twitchyzero 09-15-2012 05:02 PM

it uses SSD but at 8/32GB it would be useless if the games can't be installed because speed is probably limited by its blu-ray drive

asian_XL 09-15-2012 05:30 PM

$350 is steep? but no complaint on the $699 16gb iphone?

The wii Fit thing alone already get a lot of girls' attention, but I wonder what's the weight of that controller will be.

Considering it's basically 'current gen' it is pretty bad. And that $300 doesn't get you the pack-in game. That's the biggest mistake I think. 90% of the Wii's success was due to the pack in game. How many people even played more than that? Maybe some bought Sports Resort and Wii Fit, but that's about it.

Although that was a while ago, so maybe it is shorter now...

Tim Budong 09-15-2012 08:11 PM

$299 is "fair value" for the WiiU

I was actually expecting $249.99 launch price just like the Wii

We'll see how Nintendo climbs out of their stale gaming situation. I think they've done a fine job with changing the way games are played and re-introduced video games as "family entertainment.

Nintendo hasn't been doing too well over the past year or so. The 3DS has failed to find any of the success that the DS had (at least on this side of the pacific).

hotjoint 09-16-2012 09:28 AM

Fuck, bayonetta 2 is wii exclusive. Looks like they're going to go bankrupt....

rJZx 09-16-2012 05:58 PM

:alonehappy:

jack3d 09-17-2012 04:11 AM

the WII is just a big fad. everyone buys its just for the motion sensing and novelty stuff and 2 weeks later realize they just wasted a shitload of money. i swear everyone i know who owns a wii doesnt even play it anymore
