Granted, say 30 yrs ago, people not sure what buying into First Nations 99 yr leasehold means. There is a big swath of Musqueam land as you approach UBC (ironically, where Shaughnessy Golf Club is). I guess it made home 'ownership' a bit more affordable under those terms.
