Tell all those who bought > $million condos at UBC with 99 yr leasehold. Although in that case, it's UBC being the 'slum' lord. Granted, say 30 yrs ago, people not sure what buying into First Nations 99 yr leasehold means. There is a big swath of Musqueam land as you approach UBC (ironically, where Shaughnessy Golf Club is). I guess it made home 'ownership' a bit more affordable under those terms.
