What do you guys think about the recent Cowichan decision? As home owners, do you fear that the decision can displace your land title if this issue grows and the area broadens?
Adding to this discussion, there is a small but significant chance in how the court's decision is affecting private properties. Details of the example is described in the following news clip, starting at the 1:06 mark:
- Bcos of the land title ambiguity, banks, being the dicks that they are, are no longer offering mortgages to the properties on the area involved. So for anyone who is finding themselves in that situation, they are completely fxxked, with how fxxked they are being directly tied to the size or need of the mortgage. And since the lawsuit will drag on for years -- this one by the Cowichan FN went on for 10+ years, I believe -- the impact will be felt for a lonnnnnng time unless the province or the federal gov steps in to backstop the mortgages.
So in theory, if other FN tribes pursue the same lawsuits and win, the mortgage issue will affect properties on those lands as well. But it is premature to talk about that bcos if there are any hints of this mortgage problem turning into a contagion, I don't see how the provincial or federal gov wouldn't step in to stabilize things.

Here's the math.

So this couple did this for years. Aside from being trans fat / diet / and just so much oil and msg which we will skip over.. what's wrong is this: losing the ability to cook. So now they are prone to ordering and eating out, nothing at home 'tastes' good. It also is giving problems when they now have a child. Having an infant just gets crazy hectic and losing the ability for meal planning has really hurt the child right now. When the kid hits 3, they will go through another tough time of having to have lunch boxes and breakfast readily available for the child.
Sound awful from a diet and how your body will look after all this. But I agree, there's a handful of people I know that runs the daily Kent's Kitchen into 2 meal play. Or Bogo food delivery + GC
Bro I was dying this weekend I ate like 6 pieces of Korean fried baked chicken for lunch on Friday then some strawberry popping tea to wash it down. I had such bad stomach cramps and bloating all weekend, had to drink Pepto bismol and milk of magnesium to shit it out. Stomach's still feels weird and just starting to eat tiny bit of solid food again.

I was under the impression that there are laws in place that banks are required to service/renew existing mortgages/loans. However I don't know if there's any limitations on the rate, so if the banks see it as a risk they could hike the rate up significantly.
If your rate was something like 3%, and the bank decides that due to risk they need to do a 8% rate, yeah it's gonna suck.
This is pretty much the same case as the Abby flood lands where the property value goes to $0 for zyz reason. I guess the gov has to eat it if they are the ones saying they aren't honouring land titles which is a huge ass deal. Cuz any polar bear, Raven foot can just come out and say my great grand papi took a shit here and the land is mine. Then da Chinese can be like we came before you white people and all your base are belong to us.

You can use history to justify reparations till the end of time. Technically, all the black people in the United States should get some $$$ from the government. I dont know why we placate these people with these bullshit disingenuous treaties. Or even entertain them with court battles and legal proceedings, its all such a colossal waste of time.
