with the glass back being easily breakable (even though its gorilla glass) does that not concern anyone?
or the fact that it got owned by the sgs3 and optimusG in benchmarks?
and that it lags when dialling a number?
was seriously considering on going through with the purchase tonight but now... :/

was seriously considering on going through with the purchase tonight but now... :/ | I may or may not upgrade depending on how some of my friends feel about it; I've got a Gnex now so for the time being I'm fairly content.
As far as the glass back, I've had an otterbox on my phone; the gnex digitizer is built into the glass (or somehow fused to it) which makes it a RIDICULOUSLY expensive replacement. Now that I've had my otterbox on my phone, I can treat it just like a normal phone and not like some fragile beast. I've accidentally dropped it several times and it's still mint as fuck. Construction on phones no longer concerns me, especially when I'm getting what is essentially a top of the line phone for half price--I can afford a gods damned case.

8GB models have approx 5GB in free space after the OS. 2GB of photos, 3GB of MP3 and that's it. So no, 16GB all the way. 8GB is not going to last.

8GB for me.
I checked my usage on my Gnex and it was only around 2GB. LOL.
I don't leave junk on my phone that I'll never use.
Google Music and Plex streams all my media needs.

Actually the 2GB of my usage are mostly custom Roms and backups!
I usually keep about 3 nandroid backups.

Neither sgs3 or the optimus g are running 4.2 so benchmarking those together is going to provide mixed results obviously. Glass backing I'm not too worried about.

It's a small fracture, but had I just paid $300 for the device, I would be irate, and I'm not sure what LG or Google's policy is on replacement."
In the video review he even mentions the Google demo unit they saw on the Google campus had a crack in the back glass.

I don't get why the glass back is such a huge deal. I have an iPhone 4 and have used it since its release in June 2010 with no issues whatsoever. Yes I've had a case on the phone all the time, and I intend to do the same with the n4.
So when Apple sticks a glass back on its phone, it's "revolutionary", but when LG does it, it's a bad idea? So put on a plastic back... oh wait, people will complain that it feels too "plasticky" (ahem GS3)....

I think it's with any version of CWM recovery with the grey background/cyan font.

was seriously considering on going through with the purchase tonight but now... :/ | Gorilla glass back: either use it carefully or use a case.
Benchmarks: They don't really matter. The rest of the review says that the overall experience with the phone was quick and smooth and ran pretty fine in Riptide.
Dialing Lag: It's fixed with the change of a setting and will definitely get fixed in custom ROMs. Quote:
For the most part, it was responsive and fast, multitasking was smooth and we only rarely had any lag. In side-by-side use, it does feel slightly slower than the Optimus G; most of the time this difference is rather infinitesimal, but there are a few times that it stuck out like a sore thumb. For instance, we noticed that when dialing a phone number -- a rather trivial task in the OS -- we'd have to wait for the numbers to catch up with us, whereas the Optimus G passed this simple test with flying colors. (Update: we found that the phone dialer issue is much more noticeable when the triple-tap magnification feature is turned on. This can be disabled in accessibility settings.) | These problems are too minor for me to back off of this $309 deal. 8GB is more than enough for me. Movies and whatnot will be put on a usb via MHL

was seriously considering on going through with the purchase tonight but now... :/ | Benchmarks don't translate well into usability of the phone. And everything I've seen so far, the phone looks to be the fastest android yet.
The back is why I'm still hesitant on ordering it as soon as it's available though.
I want ifixit, or google/LG to come out and tell us that the back glass is easily separable from the back plate and thus easily replaceable. |

It seems there are two screws at the bottom of the phone so just from the picture I would assume it is very straight forward to open up the phone to replace the back

for the glass back, as long as you take care of your phone, it shouldnt be a problem.. people have broken front screens, so they shouldnt have glass on the front too?
The other thing I like is the Pentaband support... one phone to rule them all |

i dont want to give this as a gift if it'll break easily hell ive dropped my noks with glass screens from all sorts of heights onto all sorts of surfaces and they're fine (and im contemplating between the nexus 4 or a lumia 920 although the lumia is $ 2X more)
im focusing on: build quality, camera first and foremost and maps/apps/browser 2nd
i should have done my investigating earlier though lol
