Having gone from a Galaxy S1 to a Galaxy Nexus (I know, huge jump), I'd never go back to a proprietary phone. 4.2 is already out, and 4.1.2 is just getting rolled out on Samsung phones. They're always at least a half-cycle behind on hardware, and they're some of the less slow OEMs!
In addition to that, the aftermarket support for Nexus phones in terms of ROMs and devs is always going to be better. Which is always a huge plus.

The Nexus 4 is a great device, but some users, including myself, are reporting poor screen sensitivity. The issue has, thankfully, been pegged on a faulty touch driver that was recently added to Synaptics’ digitizer, and by reverting to an older revision users can regain some of that lost magic.
The fix is fairly simple to pull off, but you must have an unlocked bootloader, and already be rooted with Busybox installed. The .zip is flashed in recovery, either TWRP or CWM, and initiates a script every time to device is launched, downgrading the touch driver to the older version. This results in your phone being unresponsive for around 10 seconds at launch, but otherwise improves the overall experience of the device.
Anyone found decent cases locally? I went to Bill Tan today and they said all they have is optimus g cases but they should fit. I'm thinking of just getting a s-line case from ebay and then getting a Ringke Slim after its redesigned or a bumper once they're in stock.
Doorbell rang and I bolted downstairs.. lol... so excited... like I was a kid opening present...

My S-line case came today, along with screen protectors. The screen protectors are not edge-to-edge, but for someone who's paranoid and works in a shop environment, they give me peace of mind.
I'm still waiting for the Ringke, which should arrive this week. The S-Line is a good standby, at least. I'm still tempted by the official bumper case, but good luck finding one. Should have ordered it when I got the phone. Oh well, I blame hindsight.
