Not trying to make you feel bad, but I can't imagine how many early adopters there were for the s3 and for such dramatic price drops in the phone would make me Its unfair, but this is a trend with android phones. Annoying as f Quote:

I would understand the price drop to 0$ after 6 months-a year, but after 3 months, that irritated me. I didn't bother to call rogers, i doubt i could've argued anything though.
Nexus 4 will win in most cases against s3(Spec wise). hardware must be meh... instead spend more money to make the device look higher quality than samsung's plastic.

This is one of the things that we have to acknowledge with the new curve of technological advancement. If a new product is getting pumped out every year, then it would make sense that the price of the phone would reach "the bottom" (ie: zero dollars on a 3-year contract) about 9 months after it first goes on sale (giving the people in the three months before the new phone comes out the incentive to buy the almost-new generation for cheap) and ensuring sales volumes don't plummet.
With that in mind, each and every phone company has a different product release cycle. Generally speaking it's
Apple: September
Google: November
Samsung: February
At least as far as launches for top-of-the-line phones go. So with that in mind prices have to get cut as time goes on anyways just to ensure that people see the 'old-new' phones as roughly equivalent in terms of cost : performance ratios.
With these things in mind, I'm really not sure why people are so shocked to see price cuts and drops within 2-3 months of phone launch. Especially when the price cuts usually happen right before a big holiday sales point.

The Galaxy S line has been out in the late Q2 early Q3 time frame...at least for S2 and S3 in Canada
To answer the question at hand..I'd say the keep the S3 just because you already have it...it's a mere side-grade although the N4 will definitely be supported much longer.

I actually offloaded my phone a month or so ago with the intention of potentially getting the N4. Glad I made the decision to sell when I did.
That being said, I get by with my s2, so I'm wondering if I should even bother spending the money, at this point.
The N4 does seem really appealing though...

Didn't one of the reviews mention that they were given a pre-production unit that didn't have the widgets on the lockscreen yet?

So, just to double check.
16 gb N4 = $359 plus HST? + $20 shipping?
Total is $422.08?

I personally love the gun-metal textured back of the G Nex...creaking does bother me though so I stick a piece of paper to stop it
Isn't the rear of N4 made by gorilla glass as well? I'm surprised its so fragile

Isn't the rear of N4 made by gorilla glass as well? I'm surprised its so fragile | That's because it's not like the front. The front has the glass/lcd/digitizer fused together so it's much stronger than just a sheet of gorilla glass by itself. Also the phone might be easily taken apart due to the 2 external screws so it might actually be easy to replace the back.

Interesting that The Verge just happened to drop their demo
I would wait until proper drop tests are done, if that is a deciding factor for you.
For me personally, I'd prefer an all glass background, as long as it is durable against scratches. Plastic and aluminum look great when new, but after a while they start to wear out (especially aluminum). And putting covers on a phone, what is the point of aesthetics at all?
