Anyone heard of Copy? It's a new cloud storage solution. It is relatively new and seems promising.
You can sign up here and get 5GB free https://www.copy.com/signup/?
Or https://copy.com?r=koHT2A if you wish to use my referral link, you'll get 10GB free
They have desktop clients for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Their Android app is very good, it has a nice ui and can automatically backup your photos to your account https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.copy
This seems like a great alternative to Dropbox and perfect for nexus 4's with their limited storage. Posted via RS Mobile |

Does the bumper add much to the phone? In terms of usability, putting into your pockets, etc?

i had a panic attack today
while i was normally using my phone today mainly whatsapp texting, all of a sudden some of my settings got reset to stock, for e.g wallpaper, lockscreen settings and keyboard settings.
Tried to figure wtf just happened, i shrugged it off and set aside my phone. 10 minutes later i picked it up again and saw my battery drop around 10%. By another 30 minutes my phone's battery bar was red... Thought to myself that I probably left the screen brightness on high while texting rigorously, I plugged it into my car charger however the battery % was still dropping...
checked the battery usage and noticed this "exchange services" taking up a whopping 30%+, i realized something was fucking up. My phone wouldn't turn on because even the car charger could not keep up with the battery drain. I dropped by a buddy's house and plugged it into his wall charger while frantically googling wtf was going on. Found out its an issue a lot of android users in general have
read through several threads and ended up wiping my email account and an hour later the battery drain stopped... i was pulling my hair out panicing hard during the whole process, and harbored hatred thoughts towards android
i wouldn't wish this monstrosity onto my worst enemy

The phone is already pretty wide and the bumper just makes it wider and harder to grip. I was hoping it would also be slightly grippy as well (I personally don't like the slippery feel for obvious reasons). It's definitely one of the nicer looking bumpers but in terms of ergonomics and usefulness, it didn't do much for me.

though the bumper makes the phone slightly larger.. it did save my phone more then a few times already... the bumper has a slight nick and very light scratches... otherwise, it would have been the actual phone

Question to Nexus 4 owners ( about to make a switch to android phones ):
What makes the Nexus 4 better than its competitors such as: the visually pleasing LG Optimus, Samsung's feature-rich Galaxy S4, HTC's aluminum premium phone, and Sony's Xperia series?
Aren't they all running Android, and thus, its software can be root or flashed to attain specific attributes from its competitors?
I am having difficulties setting the criteria for purchasing a new android device.

PRICE!
What other phone can you buy that has nearly as much hardware crammed into a phone for $350 brand new? The hardware isnt the best of the best.. but for this price, it cant be beat
Android is more for customization...

I am having difficulties setting the criteria for purchasing a new android device. | Nexus phones are the best bang for your buck. You aren't getting top-notch hardware, but the hardware chosen and configured is chosen for a reason of optimally running the Android version upon release. It may not be as boss-looking as HTC's aluminum, but it is glass and much better than Samsung plastic (low build quality = cheaper to build = you're overpaying).
Go with the Nexus 4, HTC One, or wait for the next Nexus phone if you're willing to. SGS4...can't go back when you get a better quality-built phone which has a better justification of price.

I am having difficulties setting the criteria for purchasing a new android device. | Nexus phones will always get the latest official android os before any other manufacturer as the updates are from Google direct.

I am having difficulties setting the criteria for purchasing a new android device. | No bloatware eating up your battery life, forcing you to use proprietary software, slowing down your phone or eating up precious storage space.
Customization (roms, themes, apps) and the latest version of Android first.
Close to top-tier hardware at a budget price, unlocked and the freedom to pay however you want (tab, contract, or mtm).
Directly comparing competing handsets, LG Optimus G does nothing for me, it is a bland phone - they do nothing really exceptional to differentiate. Samsung S4's features are largely bloatware and don't enhance my user experience on Android any, serving only to distract; the screen is brilliant and the form factor is nearly perfect but is paired with ugly software and cheap-feeling materials, resulting in a device that seems like great value on paper but looks and feels cheap, falling short in expectations. HTC One is a premium-feeling device let down by weird design choices like Blink Feed being permanent, two capacitive buttons instead of three, ugly menu buttons taking up the bottom of the screen at times, and a camera that fails to live up to the hype. Xperia ZL I have not had a chance to play with yet but I can appreciate the design (power button in the middle of the phone, dedicated camera button) and I like the way the dummy units feel in my hand, but the software again doesn't look like anything really compelling, I will have to play around with one to find out more.
Basically I'd rather pay much less for the barebones fast phone and add the cool software to it myself than pay a premium for great hardware and have bloatware and weird OEM bullshit shoved down my throat. This way I know and choose the compromises I make, and I can always add functionality that more often than not outperforms OEM customizations, and the best part is I get to pick and choose only what I want.
If I were to compare it to something, it would be like building a PC vs. buying pre-made. Manufacturers overcharge, cut corners, or otherwise limit you via proprietary hardware or software.
Also, fuck TouchWiz, I can't believe that Samsung managed to dominate Android while using such an ugly skin.
