You will have to install franco's kernel to get any real battery life saving results

You need to ensure you are on the franco.Kernel as well. Go to Settings and then About to see your kernel version. If you are not using the kernel, you will need to flash your phone. [KERNEL][GPL][N4] franco.Kernel - r34 - xda-developers

The app that you have just purchased on the store is for you to update the kernel. But there is nothing to update if you are not even on the kernel in the first place. Once you are on the kernel, you do not need to change any settings. The kernel by default already will offer you a huge boost in battery life and performance.

Thxfor the info,so I pretty much need to install the kernel first. In the forum from your link, it seems like there's a link on how to install a kernelhttps://github.com/franciscofranco/mako/tree/android-msm-mako-3.4-jb-mr1

Reading these instructions is insane, its so complicated, do you have another website or link that will show the how to but much easier to follow? Thx for everyone's help!

^Are you rooted? If you are you just go into recovery and install the zip.

is there a difference if I get a Bell optimus G, unlock it, and flash it to i.e. a nexus rom or something else? They're readily available new for just under $400 on CL.

it does sound like stock is to be made available to retail in the coming months soon tho

You can't flash the Optimus G to Nexus ROM. Best you'll be able to do is get an ASOP ROM that should be pretty similar. This is however provided that the bootloader can get unlocked as that makes a big difference in ROM development. Currently that option is pretty dead. You can tell by looking through the XDA forums. It's pretty much a ghost town for that forum in terms of Optimus G.

Interesting. It makes your capacitive buttons useless and your memory is super limited due to 8gb only and non working SDcard but hopefully they'll get that fixed.. Also the hack is meant for the american variant of the Optimus. I'll keep watching that thread haha.

Just got my skinomi techskin. Lot of effort into the packaging that's for sure. My best skins ever just came in a simple white envelope. Time to decide which one to install.

Has anyone else noticed that the vibration on this is really weak? I barely even notice when I lie it flat on a table when a notification comes in. On my other phones you would be able to hear it vibrate, this one, dont hear or feel anything.

Anyone know how to increase the intensitiy of the vibration?

Both faux and Franco kernels/app allow you to up it. Default is around 70%

Ordered a Ringke slim case with skinomi techskin screen protector. Hopefully they ship me the revised case. Hearing people were still getting the old one even though they say that are shipping the revised case.
