| I'm taking some geology in university and this question has been asked multiple times over three years. Every professor has said it has little impact in either direction; there would need to be many thousands of quakes to relieve a noticeable amount of stress on the subduction zone, but these also aren't a warning sign that the big one is coming necessarily.
The only thing that's been said by Canadian geologists is that the big one has a ~5% chance of happening in the next 50 - 100 years. Posted via RS Mobile |
