Bumping an old thread but my friend recently took me to a sushi place near Metrotown and I actually found the quality to be very good the toro was top notch, and so were the other sushi rolls only downside is that they dont have any of the sushi in brown rice. the place is called "nao Sushi" Welcome to NAO Japanese Restaurant worth checking out |
sushiholic by broadway and rupert oyama somewhere along kingsway past metrotown next to kfc (i know you said vancouver only but i just love that place haha) both my fav sushi resto's to eat at. but i usually just go to jap house(ohukuya) because it's close by by kingsway and slocan dig the spicy sashimi salad / 3 roll combo / spicy sushi combo |
Bumping this old thread! For those in Langley, our go-to place is Umami Sushi on 64th, located next to Wired Monk, where Save-On Foods is. Their nigiri is excellent. Fantastic toro, every time. Prices are moderate. Ex: $2.50 for toro, $2 tuna, $2.25 salmon, $1.75 saba. My wife loves their dynamite rolls and beef teriyaki. Try their "Salmon Skinnies". It's, basically, salmon tempura and a scoop of imitation crab. It's awesome. We've been going there a couple of years, and it's been fairly easy to get a booth. Apparently, the word is out that this is a good place to eat. My sister-in-law and her husband tried to go tonight (Tuesday!), but all the booths were full. They went to the Cloverdale location, which is also on 64th, and said the food was just as good at that location. So, that'll be the backup. :D Also, I want to mention that Sushi Kamizato has become extremely popular. They have also raised their prices, significantly. Most of their nigiri is more than $3/piece. Saba is $3.40! I'm really happy for their success, but that's priced me out! |
I went to Sushi Kamizato for the first time the other day and it was awesome. The owner/workers were super friendly and gave my GF and I a 10% off discount card for our next visit. The aburi toro nigiri was so delicious. |
Sushi K only increased their Saba because they now get it from Japan. Their success has been amazing and they really do appreciate for all the love they've been getting. Posted via RS Mobile |

Sushi by Yuji on Kingsway. Sushi is quite nice. I recommend the toro nigiri. Very tight spacing though so book a reservation. |
japhouse for the three roll combo. suuuper filling and tasty for the price. it's like I think 7.85 or 8.95. I usually get like the salmon tempura roll, crab meat tempura roll and dynamite roll @__@ they put like teriyaki sauce on top after nom can't even finish it I get so full |

Thumbs up from me, and prices seem quite reasonable. Maybe someone with more "sushi" experience can chime in with their thoughts on the place. |
Been to NAO Sushi for lunch a few times and it was busy each time. Quality to value is quite good and also one of the better ones in Burnaby. |
any good take out sushi places in richmond?? im thinking either banzai or the jumbo sushi place from richmond center, which is better?! |
bedroom sushi is the best :ifyouknow: |
Banzai and Samurai (on Cambie) are from the same company, if that makes any difference to you. Never had jumbo before though. |
