So first of all, I checked my mail and I actually got a shipment of risers in, but they're sata/molex powered ones, I'm kinda iffy about using them, but no choice

I bought some from China as a backup in case and wow what a coincidence!

And for these gpus I got, they're from an acquaintance who works for the government, on the east coast, and apparently they have access to order em

This loss in hashrate for every card I add onto a motherboard is making me pissssssed, it adds up to a lot per month (losing 1-8mh/s per card vs them being plugged directly onto the MB) that's $12-$50 a month PER CARD

even with the cost of electricity... It makes sense to have them plugged into separate pcs if available (wouldn't make sense to build a pc for it hehe)

Thats why every PC in my house is equipped with 3080
I even rip out my bed room and wife's PC, put it into a mid ATX case and start mining.

I also had to open all windows....otherwise, my whole place feels like sauna!!

out of curiousity...

I want to add some more risers to my Personal computer which currently has 1 3080, but a 650W PSU.

Can I just get a seperate PSU and plug it in to the outlet and use it strictly for powering the risers and extra gpus?...I assume that is fine, but i dont know if i would turn that PSU on first before my actual PC. Is there a proper order for turning on PSUs when they arent connected to each other?

My dedicated mining rigs have 2 PSUs connected together with a 24pin splitter, so they activate at the same time.

This is waht you need
I am using the first one to my 3080s rigs
But i am also thinking change to 2nd one, second one does not need 4 pin molex
These items will link 1,2,3,4,......infinity PSU together.
One of my rig has 4 PSU linked...

could you not just run a wire from the trigger on the one PSU to the other?

God I hate troubleshooting

Do you guys get a crap tonne of problems when you're setting up a rig?

My new one just keeps crashing after running for about half an hour (added a new card to it) I'm assuming it's the new gpu or the crappy riser, but ugggghhh, just run and leave me be

Oh phew I was getting depressed almost thinking I just had horrible luck hehe

That's just it too they're evga FTW 3s and I'm not even overclocking them really

When I had them on a motherboard individually, I could +1450 their memory clocks, and it wouldn't bat an eye

But when they're on the same rig? I can only +500-950 depending on the card

got 100+ mh/s when they were on the test rig, but only 92-96mh on the main rig

thats why you have to tweak each of them 1 by 1, find their sweet spot on tdp%, and mem clock,
No short cuts.
