The trucker thing kind of underlines to me how crypto is losing steam as this alternative to fiat currencies.
The trucker convoy was the perfect use of this type of “untraceable” funding however when all the exchanges where they could potentially pull large sums out from have to report who these large sums are going to, it really defeats the purpose imo.
I’m sure there are individuals out there that can take out huge withdrawals through seedy means and convert it into fiat currency, but this is like 10 years on where we’re still discussing the means to use crypto in exchange for goods and services and it’s still woefully inadequate for day to day use, and in this case, even funding causes and people who would it would seem would fit perfectly, it doesn’t work

Crypto/NFT as it currently stands does not have anything resembling that.

It’s nothing but a speculation game most will lose at
And all this talk like “trade your cum coins for dick bucks then transfer it to this exchange to make pussy points that will give you referrals to the exchange”
That type of shit -completely- delegitimizes it for your average person lol. I mean, more power to ya if you can make money off it. But the talk early on in this thread that it would become as usable as a fiat currency on a day to day basis is likely to never happen. I don't think people really invest in currencies of any kind, crypto is just so volatile people have been doing it. It's not like it's good for much else lol.

Crypro was never meant to be a get rich quick scheme. It's has been a tech play from the start. People who got into it early where people into tech. I got into it because I wanted to get back into computer hardware and mining helped me cover the cost.
I'm sorry your buddies are to stupid to figure out how to sell crypto. The government only banned 35 wallets. I know a number of ways they could have sold the crypto. It's not that hard.

So Intels Asic miner for bitcoin is junk. Only does 40 TH/S @ 3600 watts. The Bitmain S19 pro does 110 TH/S at 3250 watts and the new one they have coming out that's liquid cooled will do 198 TH/S @ 5445 watts. https://maxbit.cc/intel-unveils-new-...tt-mining-rig/

Ohh, you can sell crypto, awesome. You must be a genius.
Again, if you’re having to pay taxes on any gains made, who cares. Why risk any sort of investment into this when the potential for loss even though hacking, security breaches etc Is so high.
I’m sure when crypto exchanges are filing their year end documents and your name is on it, that’s also throwing all sorts of red flags to the CRA for audits. No thanks.

People did not start connected phone lines to computers because it could make them money they did it for fun. Sean Parker did not make Napster to become rich, he did it because it was cool. Same goes for most other cool stuff on the internet.
The right only steps in when they see money. That's why you have a bunch of knockoffs like give sent go, christian flix, and countless number of Facebook/twitter/youtube knock offs that all suck because they don't understand tech.

A wrestler I follow launched an NFT project, fans immediately opposed it, strongly but respectfully. She deleted the tweet after 20 minutes
Mainstream do NOT want NFTs, and anyone with any sort of reputation who gets themselves involved in it, will lose their appeal quickly. Good on her for recognizing the reaction, and maybe considering the issues they brought up. |

banning crypto on and off ramp has never really deter anyone interested in the technology.
Bitcoin survive for majority of its life without a real on and off ramp.
Crypto is still alive and well inside China where exchange have been ban for years.
I think anyone that think crypto is meant to go mainstream is really smoking a crack pipe. The only real mainstream use for anything crypto is speculation by 99% of the population, yes that include majority of those that actually uses a legitimate exchange (you know the ones trackable by the government). It been 13 years and crypto has only just succesfully break into mainstream, and the only real purpose it has serve for people outside the cycle and not really interested in the tech, is for speculation.
Once bitcoin/eth/ada whatever other coin normies are into stop going up, or god forbid goes down. Public interest will grind to a halt again.
Crypto the tech thou, will not died and there will always be a portion of society that will continue to be fascinated by it and experiement with it regardless of what government/institution try to do.

My cousin told me she is getting cancelled right now by TVB because she tried to sell NFTs and they didn't like that + a few other things.

The biggest things happening in NFT space right now. Super hype project months in the making auctioning off their 1:1 art
sold for 496.69 eth
or 1.3 mill USD
major cash grab probably from an outside perspective.
Except this is 100% going to charity. Kind of historic for small group of artists to raise this amount of money online. Let's see how this story play out. But it kind of shows what this space the capable of.
on the other hand you have Johnny Depp trying to sell his 12k collection of personal art for 0.6eth each. Polar opposite story deserve polar opposite response

Months in the making for someone as a first year digital designer.... That gif can be made in under three days
Create gif > create charity "non profit" > tell everyone you spent 6 months making it > sob story > marketing > involve charity to sucker people in > take all your available savings > buy your own art for 100k-1mil > make a second art piece > watch some sucker pay 100-1mil for it > profit

Shake up in the con shadow cabinet.
Ben Lobb is now the Shadow Minister for Digital Government and Special Advisor on Blockchain Technologies and Crypto Assets. It looks like a new position.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Lee University is a private Christian university in Cleveland, Tennessee. It was originally the Church of God Bible Training School, a small Bible institute founded in 1918 with twelve students and one teacher. The school grew and became Lee College, with a Bible college and junior college on its current site, in 1948. Twenty years later, Lee received accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as a four-year liberal arts college. In 1997, Lee made the transition from college to comprehensive university.[7] The university is divided into six colleges and schools: the College of Arts & Sciences, the Helen DeVos College of Education, the School of Business, the School of Music, the School of Nursing, and the School of Religion. The university also offers online degrees through the Division of Adult Learning. The university is named for F.J. Lee, its second president.

The NFT shoes, the GIFs that gained a ton of hype for a "charity", it's all just different forms of Apes.
