My buddy said they do enforcement at schools when asked by the schools.
You can imagine how the parents react when they see the officers there.
My buddy has to remind the parents that they are only ticketing the parents who are stopping and parking illegally.

Except that remember parents will often be the loudest and most annoying voices to a politician or public servant.

We used to have a cop doing a speed trap (as requested by the principal of my mom's old school) along the side road that a lot of parents would tend to speed down. They gave out a decent number of tickets but the amount of screaming that went towards the principals and the phone calls to the non-emergency number (and even to 911!) telling them to "go fucking do something useful" and so on and so forth...

It disappeared about a week later.
