monsanto GMO foods? profit based drug corporations? a culture of violence?

Saudi student cleared by FBI

A perfect day turns evil - Metro - The Boston Globe

Quote:

Then there was the story about the young Saudi guy who was being questioned by the FBI. Now, the FBI wouldn’t tell me if my pants were on fire, but my old pal John Miller from CBS News reported that the kid did a runner after the explosion and that somebody tackled him and held him for the police. Miller used to be an associate director at the FBI, and let’s just say his sources there are impeccable. Miller says the Saudi guy was cooperative and denied he had anything to do with the bombing. He says he took off because, like everybody else in the Back Bay, he was terrified. A law enforcement source later told me that Miller’s story is right on the money.

No. He isn't. I doubt he's that ignorant.

It is good be be living in a secure and peaceful environment.

It is totally different when your country is bombing others and taking away the other peoples security and peace.

We use drone strikes to kill people. Sure, some deserve it, but we target them where innocents live.. and innocents die because of our actions.

So knowing that.. I think what he's saying is that people need to realize we are doing this to others on a daily basis.. and should take this disgusting tragedy as a wake up call. Maybe even get out of our comfort zone and put down the remote control , get off the couch and make sure the government representing us stop the killing of innocents miles away.. because you know..
this sucks , no matter who it happens to.

It's the terrorists. If it was pure racism, the people would be taking down black people, hispanics, asians, etc. But they are taking down the race that terrorists have been.

Nobody got hurt, the guy got questioned, and was released. If he was the perpetrator, and some PC person decided to do nothing about it for fear of being called a racist by someone on the internet, that would suck a lot more.

All that being said, planted bombs doesn't really seem to be the MO of muslim terrorists... they tend to use themselves as martyrs, and strap the bombs to themselves... Who knows who did it, whoever did sucks.

That happened over 10 years ago, not today.

And collateral war damage != direct terrorist attack.

Is that the fault of the US for targeting innocents or the fault of the "targets" for intentionally hiding among civilians?

It is, I'm not sure how I linked the wrong url but what I wanted to link was different. Let me see if I can find it agan.

Although.. does it matter?..

10 years ago or today. Shit still sucks.. and saying that because it's collateral war damage it can't be compared, is not true.

Watching the press conference from a hospital spokesman this morning, it actually sounds like if something like this WAS going to happen, it happened at the best time possible:
- Tons of emergency responders already on site for the marathon
- Hospitals already had extra staff on to deal with expected marathon injuries
- Hospitals had full trauma staff on because it was the middle of the day

All in all meant the injured got far faster and better medical treatment than they might have any other day.

Yes it matters. You are bringing up something completely unrelated for some reason. Want to bring up some bus accident that killed lots of people in Africa? What would that prove?

Actually they should stay in their "caves" or whatever suitable place they can find to plan and organize their attacks.

If you bring shit into your own house then you can't complain if something happens to family/friends around you. If you're going to involve yourself in these activities then you should distance yourself as far as you can from anyone you care about.

The fact that so many don't just shows their "cause" is more important to them than family or innocent people around them.

not sure if this was posted but i really loose faith in humanity after things like this. I also can not even understand how when the bomb went off people in the race cared more about finishing then helping people, some were running through the crowed watching there watches trying to get across the finish.

Its sad to say but these terrorist acts are happening to America because they decide to attack/invade other countries killing innocent people with their drone strikes. And then it say it was an accident or bad intel.

I agree with your sentiment, but if this was a domestic terrorist, then your opinion couldn't be more wrong.

Of all of these things, hearing people say "they attack america because they hate freedom" is the kind of bullshit that people buy into, but shouldn't.
