Seeing a picture and thinking you may through up is one thing, but actually being there, with the adrenaline rushing and seeing people injured and in need of help you'd be surprised what you'd be able to do.

On a side note, watching the reporters interview the trauma surgeon on CNN... fuck reporters are ruthless.
But i do like how Cnn is saying they don't want to jump to conclusions about things and people should wait for official reports

RIP for the 3 dead, players go out to the injured.

Absolutely disgusting that this kinda shit still happens.

and vice versa, sitting here thinking you'd probably do a lot if you were actually in the situation, with the adrenaline rushing and seeing people injured in real life, you'd be surprised by how much you'd just want to GTFO of there.........I personally think I would actually do what I could to help, but I have little faith that the average person would do much, if anything......After all, how many times do we see an accident on the road only to see 99% of people just drive right by thinking 'oh someone else will help'....

defiantly agree that most people would GTFO.
I personally would be able to leave someone that just got fucked up to lay there and potentially die.

And terrorist attacks are an everyday occurrence in Boston?

There's no need to be paranoid about such things, but to say shit like "it won't happen here" is ignorant at best during the fucked up times we live in.

Calm your tits.

I'm not saying that it wont happen here. But I can think of 10+ cities in the US with greater economic and political influence and significance that will more likely suffer from the next terrorist attack than lil ol' Vancouver.

Still happens? It's a daily occurrence outside North America's sheltered little world and has been for decades.

Thousands if not tens of thousands of innocent men, women, and children have been murdered by IED's and bombings in the last few years at markets, riding the bus or train, at political rallies, or walking their pets down the street in other parts of the world and even if it's covered by western media people don't bat an eyelash. But three die in the United States and it's a tragedy of epic proportions.

I'm not trying to downplay what's happened, it is of course tragic that some cowards decided blowing up innocent people was the way to fight their battle. But some of you really need to wake up and realize what kind of world we live in.

RIP to those killed.

Yup, in fact:

Quote:

Baghdad (CNN) -- A series of bomb blasts across Iraq on Monday killed at least 42 people and wounded more than 257 others, police said.
The attacks took place in at least six provinces: Baghdad, Anbar, Babel, Kirkuk, Salaheddin Diyala, and Nasriya, police officials across the country told CNN.
Two of the bombs exploded at a checkpoint near Baghdad's international airport.
Most of the attacks in Baghdad targeted Shiite areas, police told CNN. Al Qaeda in Iraq, made up of Sunni extremists, has claimed responsibility for many attacks in recent months.
Attacks elsewhere hit security checkpoints, Shiite areas and political offices.
With provincial elections scheduled to take place in five days, ongoing attacks have politicians worried that violence could skew the outcome, if Iraqis who fear attacks on polling centers stay at home.
...happened today; at least 42 people dead, more than 257 others wounded...

Yeah, I tend to agree.

I fear CNN is sensationalizing this a bit. Don't get me wrong....1 life if too many, but unfortunately, this happens daily all over the world. Where are the facebook memes for that....my newsfeed is drenched in "Pray for Boston" and Mr. Rogers memes right now...

You say "sheltered little world" as if it's a bad thing to be used to living in secure, peaceful country normally.
