Where to take your SO *Events 411*

official events page? Mod please edit if it can be the official page.

Well I was searching around rs and i could not find an events page where you can take your bf or gf.

So I came up with this idea to hear everyone opinion with events,
I think it would greatly take our burden out specially for those who is on long term relationship like me perhaps who does not have anything to do anymore but get out of the country..... damn expensive btw.

although, i know for sure that my gf and i have not done absolutely everything in BC we just dont know most of the things that goes on since were always working and when we do have time.. we dont know where or what to do.
I mean I wouldnt know if something is happening today in crescent beach since i go to white rock. it would be nice to know?

anyone in the same boat? :smug:

my GOAL is easy, something to do every week, while not spending too much $$ to save for that bulk downpayment.

keywords are fine, we can google the details.

such us:
1. nightmarket from may-september?
2. sunshine festival in vernon this week
3. bright lights at night during fall
4. squamish mine tour
5. earth day events
6. tree lighting events
7. Surrey fusion festival July 20 to 21, 2013 (jay sean is going)
8.

here are some helpfull links:

If you guys have some suggestions, ill edit this and add it.

Would be so helpfull!

If your girlfriend doesn't want to at least try dancing salsa, she has no soul. Free salsa lessons every Sunday from June 30 to August 25 at UBC Robson Square.

There was Italian day last week, just past was the car free day. You can also take your date to play land,go around downtown to try different food cart, bike ride around Stanley park, gigrinville island, pit and pitch at central, park, richmond go kart, paintball, water park, food cart festival around Olympic village, kayaking and canoeing at dear lake park, paddling boarding......... Chocolate mailing at cocoaNymoh and the list goes on and on as long as you actually put some effort into it.

look at this lovely weather.

take her to the beach! go to walmart/Canadian tire/save on foods, buy a couple inflatable donuts or air beds with lil back rests on em (I got one for 8$ the other day) grab a few 5$ squirt guns, some drinks, head to the beach(I go to white pine a LOT with the gf), float out to the middle, relax and have fun and tan.

easy way to kill 4-5 hours. total investment: floaty thing you can use all summer 10$, pop/chips 5$, squirt gun 2$ at dollar store, sun tan lotion 6$. the donut and sun tan lotion will probably last you most of the summer anyways, so that 15$ will be well spent!

Farmer's Markets.

Then cook dinner for her that night with the stuff you buy there.

You're not seriously suggesting an evening stroll with a bottle of champagne, are you?

You're trying way too hard...

My current and i occasionally do somewhat similar activities, but nothing this over planned...

We like farmers markets, picnics, days at the beach, and such....

your current? thats why its "current" for a reason. u can do fresh stuff.

my gf is not my "current" ive been with her for 7 years and we have tried most of your "current" simple stuff.

picnics, beach? maybe at least 20 times.

there is nothing over planned for this relationship im in anymore. the more over planned it is the better.

after every date, she thinks about what we did for a whole week while at work.
it keeps us very happy, takes doubts or insecurities away and we look forward for next week's date.
for that reason we havent had a fight for at least 8 months.

LookitsMarkA 07-02-2013 11:21 PM

were trying this on saturday

You mean, it distracts her.

You are literally saying your relationship is all smoke and mirrors.

What happens when life gets in the way and you go 4-5 weekends without this stuff?

:werd:

My relationship(s) are not structured upon elaborate events, because we simply enjoying spending time with one another and the setting or activity is nothing more than a backdrop for it. And therefore, we'd be quite happy to go to the beach ten, twenty, thirty times, or more (and have).

yeah i agree with u, there was a year worth that we didnt do anything fun, stayed at home, eat and get fat.

our relationship went down the drain. its not that we dont love each other but it was boring... =/
we didnt look forward to coming home, we looked forward to going out with our bros and girls.

ask your friend who is in a long term relationship,
things get boring... so if you dont make this overplanned things,
your just gonna end up at home cooking steak, pasta, ravioli , sushi ETC from t&t or superstore every freaking weekend watching netflix or icefilms getting fat. (this shit went on for us for like 2 years) or go picnic every weekend bringing what? oh right food again.
dont get me wrong, we love cooking but to say "if you love each other, nothing gets boring".............. bullshit

even getting laid was out of the question as "i dont deserve it anymore"
she said there was not feeling of infatuation to give it.
but after we put this every other week overplanned dates, we are more happy?
and we do something small every other week like go to the states.
the only days i dont get laid is when shes on mother nature. lol.

i dont know if u guys have gone through many phases of your own long term relationship. but this over planned thing.. personally saved us?

we are closer to each other, we work out together and happy to tell our friends that we did something awesome every other weekend,

so its not that we distract each other from the things we did..
we are creating more history together.

mindbomer everything becomes repetition after a while. beach 20 times? damn really? wheres your creativity? i think your assuming she will still be happy.
do me a favor and if your planning to be with your "current" for a potential marriage, go talk to your friend who has been in a relationship for at least 5 years.

dinosaur cute avatar btw lol

dinosaur 07-03-2013 12:33 PM

me=going on 5 year LTR. Previous was 8 year LTR.

My fav nights=laying in bed until 4am talking and laughing.

Life maybe be boring from time to time...but it has nothing to do with my relationship. Life is just like that.

Some times the boring quiet makes you realize that you are with the right one. Just being able to "be" is the best part.

LookitsMarkA 07-03-2013 12:42 PM

then i respect that^
different relationships , different views.

my gf and i just like being active
