The only reason Bergevin would decline that deal is if the Avs were asking for something else along the lines of a high draft-pick or Tinordi. I refuse to believe that he would be that dumb to decline that trade if it was straight up.

For sure, or else it doesn't make any sense. Bourque is terrible though. Just looking purely at stats:

Bourque 39 GP, 7G 1A 8P, -6 - 3.3m 2 years left

Parenteau 41GP, 9G 16A 25P, +/-0 - 4m 2 years left
