Freaking exchange rate steadily dropping. About this time last year, the opposite was happening and our dollar peaked in September at 1.03 ish US.

Today it is below 0.95 and dropping.......

Yup, it's their 3 day Parking Lot Sale.

It seems they have one every month, just like KMS Tools and Summit.

Has anyone purchased from them on-line? They have free shipping if you buy X dollars worth. I'm just wondering if they tax you on the items. Save the gas, save the tax, save the time, etc.

Acura604 08-23-2013 11:29 AM

I'm finding that 'regular lineup' gas fillup trips to Blaine between 9pm and 11pm every weekday/weekend to be insanely busy.

usually 5mins to 20mins to ENTER the USA at Peace Arch..

but..

40 mins + to go back into Canada.

I assume its because the USA malls close at 9pm and so the rush of Canadians head back north.

Its bad because of summer holidays. Once kids are back in school it will be back to normal.

I hear nexus lines are getting a bit busier

Kaolinite 08-24-2013 03:38 PM

^ not really.. or im just going at the right time lol. Yesterday I went to the states at 12pm? and the wait was only 5min for nexus and the regular line up was way pass the duty free (peace arch)..came back at 4pm and it was still 5min for nexus

I'm surprised nobody has put together a database of wait times and charted it. Location to location, day by day, hour to hour, etc.

It changes too often, I guess. Border services probably has all that info. Perhaps it's on a website somewhere already and we don't know of it yet.

There's an app for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...t2.ports&hl=en

This is for Blaine:

They sure do. It's becuase they have physical stores in WA. (they have a store in Bellingham) Either way, I usually just buy their stuff online and have it shipped. It's only $6.99 for shipping and takes the guesswork of wondering if what you want is in stock at the store.

Got bored, so took off for the border. I'm at Southcenter Mall. Seafood City to be exact. Wife's shopping while I'm chillin in this library that's set up like an Internet cafe. Totally Asian place. Even has a Daiso, LOL. Might check out Museum of Flight/Boeing.

I was at the Boeing in Everett a few years back on the tour, it is definitely well worth it. They will take you into the actual factory assembly line to see how they build the planes.

Sadly, could not convince the rest of my clan to go. I guess I'll have to take Tos'd with me one day.

This worked like a charm for us today at Sonic. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the bump, missed this the first time it was posted. Great info, no more having to go inside to pump gas!

I was there last year, and concur it's worth visiting!

Vansterdam 08-28-2013 03:45 AM

can someone give me directions to the nearest Trader Joes from the Border?
Posted via RS Mobile

MG1 08-28-2013 05:23 AM

https://maps.google.ca/maps?client=s...ed=0CAoQ_AUoAg

Click on the "Directions" button and fill in your home address. Google will list all turns and street names. Just print out the list and you're done.

I start a new job tomorrow and was debating about heading to Seattle to go shopping on Sat. (yes I know it's the long weekend :p) What time would be the latest I'd want to arrive at the border to avoid a huge wait time? I'm good with 30 or less. I'd be taking Peach Arch as I live in E Van

tia :)

dachinesedude 08-28-2013 08:51 AM

^ get to peach arch before 8am is usually ok, after that GL

lilaznviper 08-28-2013 09:14 AM

i usually start heading out to peace arch at around 6am, live in east van. by the time i get there line up is about 30-40 minutes.
