A sportbike can easily take a corner at double the posted speed, especially true with the low posted speeds on BC roads.
I disagree 100% with this statement.
But even if it WAS true, it doesn’t matter what the bike CAN do, it matters what the rider DOES.
I would say over half of the people I see riding bikes in the GVA ride poorly, or with a huge chip on their shoulder trying to make sure they look as bad ass as possible.
It hard to look awesome when your crumpled into a wall wondering what’s going to be amputated, or watching a cop pull your missing fingers out of a Truck grill because the rider couldn’t keep up with what the bike COULD do in a corner. Fast bike does not equal automatic talent for the rider.

Most riders that aren't that great of riders hang out at Starbucks shinning up there new sportbike, probly has chicken strips all over there tires. Don't think those poser's would want to get bug mess over there new rides taking it up there. Posted via RS Mobile

I think he was asking if you ride a motorcycle, not every cops and retaded law maker's dicks... same goes for other "saints" in this thread
Funny guy.
First, if you going to be internet hard, please do a spell check before you post, You spelled retarded wrong in an effort to mash that reply button.
Second, yes I ride. Not a sport bike, it’s right there in my sig, and certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. I grew up around bikes, Harleys mostly, but I have only been riding for a few years with a license. I’m betting I’ve put more mileage on my bike than most with trips around the Okanagan and out to places like Head smashed in Alberta. I’m ashamed to say though; I have yet to even be on my bike this year. Car projects came first. Not sure what any of that has to do with my comments above
As far as being a “dick rider” for the cops and “law makers”, I’m thinking you have me mistaken. Perhaps your reading comprehension is not the best. Re read my post, and please point out the portion that makes me a “dick rider”.

Reason: Edit because name calling isn’t nice.
And just as a note here, I haven’t even made comment on the people speeding, or the punishment. I still believe impounding vehicles or property is a power that should NOT be given to law enforcement unless directly related to a violent crime or purchased with money directly obtained by illegal means.
My only comment pertains to what I quoted, that a sport bike can easily do double the limit in a corner. Way to much to quantify here, type of corner, surface, other traffic, weather, tires, and way more. But most importantly, THE RIDER.
As above, it takes more than a fast bike to be fast in a corner and handle the bike well. I personally don’t think that many of the riders I see day to day can actually do that in an uncontrolled environment at 160km in most situations.

Seems I hit a nerve there?
it actually seems that you're the one who's nerve has been struck. I hope you forgive me for my typo, as I usually prefer for my responses to be immaculate...
Meh. I take exception to being called a dick rider, and offence to the idea that I am blindly defending the RCMP, Police, or governments of BC. I don’t see that anywhere in what I posted.
i like how the moment a thread like this pops up, everyone (well a number) suddenly becomes a 100% law abiding citizen in the thread.
there's a time and a place for everything
double the speed limit in the dark on the S2S surely can't be a good idea....I'm curious if at that speed if it's overdriving the headlights even on the straights.

I am still appalled by the ignorance in people's replies. Who gives a flying duck if someone goes 160 in an 80, and ends up killing him/herself. I know I couldn't care. It is when they take out innocent people with them, that is the issue (for me personally). And for that reason, I am all for keeping the speed limits the way they are right now, and the severe punishments associated with the offence. The laws are made to protect people. Sure, there are laws that are enforced to protect the individual, like seat belts, but speed limits and distracted driving laws are there to protect innocent people who have no reason to be killed because some moron decided to go 160 in an 80, or had their head down looking at their cell phone.
