This thread has cemented my position on how much easier it is to just get a console and enjoy it as it is lol. Yeah it might not look as pretty but I turn it on and don't think twice about whether I should tweak this or that, and I just enjoy the game.
I'll probably pick up the PS5 version mid to late 2021 when all the patches have rolled out.

Thing is, I could just turn off RT and get console quality and play at 70 fps
But I bought this GPU and game to enjoy the amazing graphics, that's why I keep trying to get it to work!

Oh I totally get it, I just think I'd drive myself nuts always trying to get the most out of my setup, always checking how many fps it's running at and why it's not doing better with what I have. Sometimes "this is what you get" can make the game more enjoyable lol

The thing is until now, consoles never even offered modes that I find to be playable... 30 FPS is totally unacceptable to me, and 60 is bare minimum.
With a PC I can always tweak the game to get what I want. On a console, games are either literally unplayable, or not as good as I'd like, with no way to make it better.
It's up to the game devs to deliver a functioning game, and lately they seem to have had some issues doing that. It's 2020 so I can't complain too much, but it's kind of frustrating.
24 fps is fine when you don't have to interact with anything, but if you can handle that kind of lag between what your hands do and what your eyes see, all the power to ya... For me I get nauseous just thinking about it
FFS.. as Skinny mentioned my R9 390 is likely the base for kinda minimum playability seemingly reading toms hardware and elsehwhere.. also my i7 2600k gonna be a bottle neck..
uhggggggg... fucking spent like $600 on that card to basically play Fallout 4 at its limits and that's like the only game I got to run to its full capability now my PC is at the end of its life lol ... fuck
This is why i stopped chasing my tail with playing games on PC and am just sticking to console. Even though I enjoy playing on the PC more, it's just too expensive to keep upgrading.
Have any of you guys noticed any weird glitches? Ive been getting pretty weird asset pop ins such as characters T posing pretty often and random objects such as phones or chopsticks would just float. Hoping that moving the game from an hdd to ssd might help.

It's a 5 year old $300 GPU... Look at how the game plays on 5 year old $400 consoles
And my entire computer is probably reaching 9+ years old or more now, so I’m not too upset. Probably the best computer I ever owned in terms of longevity and staying near the top end for most of its life.
I recently picked up a new hobby that I’m into for a few k so I won’t be building a new computer anytime soon lol
Eh that PS4 video doesn’t seem too bad.. if my r9 would be better than that I’d be ok with it..maybe.. lol

Radeon 5600XT gets me 1080p medium settings with great smoothness (haven't bothered to log FPS)
I had a PS4 version pre-ordered from last year and I'm glad I cancelled it and ended up buying it from GOG instead. I'd be so upset if I bought the PS4 version and saw how much shittier it runs compared to the other versions available.
CDPR is pretty well known for supporting their broken games for a long time after release date
They needed to delay this another 6 months to have it working properly, but you can consider this basically the Release Candidate. Play it now, or wait 6 months for the actual final version.
Got the game to finally run at a stable 75 FPS. The hard hitters for FPS seem to be any of the shadow settings + volumetric cloud+fog settings. Turned those all to medium and it's a much better experience now. I barely notice the difference graphically, but definitely notice the smoothness
BTW when talking about performance, it would be a good idea if we all talked about the same area. I can get up to 75 FPS if I'm in certain areas without a lot of people or lighting effects
Toms hardware used the area outside the apartment, so IMO we should use that when sharing performance results. I'll post a screenshot
I'm still getting some dips into the low 60s while driving around the major areas, but otherwise has been fine. Right outside of the apartments I'm getting between 68-75fps with these settings.
