So i am making this thread to ask for help.
Me and my friends decided to make stickers and sell them.
all proceeds will be donated to help the people of the philippines.

this stickers will look like this

we can print it in gold, blue, red, black, and white.
the size will be 7" x 5"
price would be $5 each.

i would like to know who would be interested in buying them.

The people in Philippines don't need prayers, they need money.

Probably the best way to get it to them is here or here.

I'd rather donate directly to a reputable charity than have some of my time and money wasted on printing stickers.

Red Cross is already set up to immediately help people (they are still recovering from the earthquake, what timing right?) so the sooner they get the funds, the better.

OP's heart may be in the right place, but this should have been a post urging people to donate, and telling them how.

yep.. cause when was the last time prayers did, well, ANYTHING at all?

anyway good intentions, but if people are willing to buy a sticker that puts proceeds towards the phillipines, then they should be willing to directly donate to reputable relief funds

Not directed at the OP but common sense tip of the day is ONLY send money to reputable charities if you do want to make a donation.

I encourage everyone to donate. Especially since, the Government of Canada will match donations made by Canadians to registered charities.

FYI - although I don't doubt the legitimacy of the International Care Ministries you have linked above, they don't appear to be a registered charity with the Government of Canada. As a result, any donations to this organization would not be matched by the federal government.

I highly recommend folks donate to the Red Cross.

So pretty much you're just donating twice.. First time you donate you use your money, then the government matches your donation using your money..

Or... donate half the amount and the government donates the other half. Problem solved. I never donate to religious groups as you never know how much they use to convert people rather than help them.

I was approached at a starbucks by 2 old filipino women who asked me to donate to them directly so they can help the typhoon victims.

I've been to this starbucks before, and the same 2 old women had asked me to donate to help child prostitution victims in the Philippines.

I told them I already donated to the Red Cross and they swore at me in filipino and called me a heartless jerk for enjoying starbucks coffee while millions (their words) died.

I was pretty mad lol

I would have replied with

"using other people's misfortune, especially your own people, is incredibly low."

or.... "thank you. I don't give a shit. Have a nice day!"

how are we waisting your time and money? we are not forcing you to do anything for us. if you would rather donate straight to redcross go ahead no one is stopping you. we are not here to waist anybody’s time or money.

we are giving the stickers to say that we appreciate your donation.
its a way for us to say thank you.

we are not here to make money.
we are here simply because we decided to make stickers sell them and donate all the money.
if you don’t like it. then i don’t know why your here.

to op:

you have 59 posts... absolutely no real 'reputation' here on revscene... yet you get defensive when some LONG TIME members look out for some of us by mentioning 'best practices' for making donations.

i'm sure you mean well with your sticker campaign but your follow up to this thread stinks.

OP might as well go start one of those chain posts on FB where FB will donate a dollar for every like..

Also there is like 3 threads on this same item now. I get it save the Philippines, I am all for helping out and already donated as I have a lot of friends who are from the Pilipinas, but you don't see 8 threads on donating to save everyone in syria...

Care Ministries is based in Hong Kong.. they are legit though, and yeah either them or Red Cross would be a good choice.
