Planning to get buy Certified 2012 Mazda 5. Anyone have any idea how much I can negotiate off the asking price of $17,900? Is there a Mazda forum somewhere that I can get more information?

Totally depends on about a billion variables... Presuming the asking price is reasonably in the realm of what the car is worth, i usually go for asking price = "all in" price, so including tax "doc" fee (however they want to word the extra profit fee" etc.

Someone in that was in my Vehicle Sales Authority licensing class when I took it was employed by a dealer that convinced her that a doc fee was a mandatory fee instated by the government, and apparently she had told every person she dealt with that it was a government fee because she actually thought it was

it isn't mandatory but a lot of dealers won't budge on it and claim it's non negotiable

I have no idea how much it will end up costing or what a bitch finding parts will be though :okay:

^^^^^ I want one, but am having trouble just justifying the costs of one.

Next car is 996 GT2, arctic silver.

Looks like another 996 but :ilied:

I dont care how much cheaper a Turbo is, how much 997 Turbo is, how safe, how impractical it is, I want it more than I want my next breath.

westopher 02-20-2014 11:06 PM

i would take a GT2 and 10 hard kicks in the dick over an r34 GTR. Thats how much I want a gt2 (of any era, but 993 would OBVIOUSLY be the first choice)

GS8 02-20-2014 11:18 PM

If anyone on here can buy a GT2 in the next year, I'll give myself 10 hard kicks to the dick.

Porsche 911 GT2 could be discontinued, executive says | Digital Trends

It's currently a toss up between three cars:

Another Nissan S12 (I miss my old Soviet Russia spraybombed twin-turbo monster :lol)

(picture only for reference... not my old one)

Or possibly a K20-swapped CRX si

Oooorrrrr... go for another MK2 GTI with a "slightly" upgraded 2L 16v:

I'm too much of a tinkerer to bother buying a new car again. :lol

That's gorgeous. I would love to pick up a nice clean Mk2 but I'm not ready for that love/serious hate relationship just yet. My close friend bought "the turd"(some might recognize the car and name) and we're slowly building it up now.

westopher 02-21-2014 08:57 AM

Oh man, I remember the turd. The last owner just fucking destroyed it iirc?

Motor needed work, fender paint cracked, wiring is a mess. The purchase price was dirt cheap though. VR6 is now healthy and it just needs some fender work, tranny cable adjustment and some odds and ends. To get away from the "turd" namesake we now dubbed it the "shitbox"

Lomac 02-21-2014 10:14 AM

What the hell happened to that brown beast? I saw it for sale a few years back but had hoped that someone who cared about the amount of time and effort it took to build it had bought it. :(

Yes, that is pretty much what happened. My friend is a long time dubber and the deal was too good to pass up. It will be returned to it's glorious state with some minor adjustments. shitbox > turd

Would you rather get 10 hard kicks in the dick or take 10 hard dicks? :accepted:
