gotta wait for july 8th for the next new member orientation.

Congrats on the range!
It's a fun necessity that we have to deal with as restricted owners.

https://mapleseedrifleman.com/events

Problem with the 10/22 is that they're not the most accurate rimfire rifles. A bolt action would still be the best way to shoot long distances.

I know my 10/22, which has been heavily massaged, couldn't hit 300 yards consistantly.

I like the idea of the clean 500 yard rimfire shot. But I'm thinking a .17HMR or a .22 Magnum might be a better choice. Still rimfire, but with a little more punch and stability.

might give it a try with my STG44 :D

hmm, looking at it... they expect .22LR to shoot accurately at 500yd? :s

I believe you actually only shoot at 25 meters (82 feet) but with reduced sized targets to simulate full size targets at 400 yards. I downloaded and took a look at a few of the printable targets. I believe the end goal is to be able to shot 4 MOA in various positions.

Raid3n 06-18-2018 09:48 PM

that's a little more reasonable than expecting to sling .22LR out to 4-500m lol.

the sights on the STG are a little wonky, and i need to set them 10m or so higher than i'm shooting to get it on target lol

Raid3n 06-19-2018 10:11 PM

lol hypa, got the authorization today... and an extra copy of my license for some reason....

Zedbra 06-20-2018 04:28 AM

The new licence gets issued on your first Restricted purchase now if you have not had an LTATT prior in BC, as those conditions are now a part of your licence.

Raid3n 06-20-2018 09:25 AM

Ahh OK. I wish they explained that.. I just got 2 envelopes. One saying I can go pick up the firearm, and the other had a new license.

Skunked again on two draws. 5 years in a row with nothing, yet I have seen one group of guys in the area I go to that got a Bull Moose group draw three years in a row. :yuno:

Hondaracer 06-20-2018 02:46 PM

I wasn’t in on any big game this year but really wanted the easy 3-18 doe draw I got last year again, unfortunately no luck :/

Will be going out for open bucks some time in October

I grew up hunting. My dad taught me to shoot, like his father taught him. The allies taught my grandfather to shoot, but I digress.... I guess you could say that hunting is a way of life for me and my family, not unlike the native people's. Then why the fuck is it so hard to get draws?!

Between the guided companies, the naturists, and the natives, it's been virtually impossible to hunt anything bigger than a grouse for the last few seasons.

Hondaracer 06-28-2018 06:10 PM

If you’re willing to drive 10+ hours u can hint whatever u want lol..

Would be nice to get a few more of those “easy” draws out. I have a feeling a lot go unfilled

Haven't been in this thread for a while.

My dad had come over to my place to help me bring in a new gun locker and while in the elevator an old lady asked what it was. Told her and instantly she said "oh no you don't" and then stayed quiet until she got off on her floor. I double checked my strata bylaws and theres nothing about storing firearms etc. The closest thing to it would be storing hazardous material in or about the strata lot. Bleach is a hazardous material... Anything with an MSDS sheet can be hazardous. Should I be worrying about the old broad complaining to the strata about it?

While I'm here, is the shooting range in langley decent? I haven't had time to check it out and would like to join a range.

Zedbra 07-23-2018 09:48 PM

Oh no you don't! Lol. Next time just tell her it is for guitars.

Raid3n 07-24-2018 09:23 AM

it's a safe for all my vintage guitar cases, purchased almost exclusively from banditos.

Finally managed to slip out to the range yesterday morning to sight in my Swarovski. That Z5 is such a nice piece of glass - I can never accept anything less moving forth. I was getting sub-moa groups at 200, I was stoked, called my hunting partner today and found out he is getting back surgery and may not be able to hunt this season. FFS.

XSSIV 08-08-2018 08:10 AM

I'm a shooter - very casual, borderline collector.

I have a 10/22, 88 Mav, Brno SXS, Marlin 22, S&W 5906 9mm, Mosquito 22, Norinco 45.

I had an SKS and now realize how much I hate them.

Just got my hunting license last year, so looking for a couple of hunting rifles next.

To buy:
45/70
something in 300
something in 200
Would love a safari big bore SXS as well

Zedbra 08-08-2018 07:50 PM

^ you like the big bores, eh? Have you shot many? They come with a thump, hunting in BC doesn't require a 300 WIN, but if you can shoulder it, then why not? My preferred calibre is 7mm Rem Mag, so very close. The 45/70 is a novelty bush gun calibre - your 300 WIN will be a better calibre all around.

Raid3n 08-08-2018 08:29 PM

i was planning on hunting with my kar98.. though with how hard it is to find ammo, i may hold off on that until i start reloading

Love big bores. I find it therapeutic LOL

At the end of the day, I want all the calibers :)

Raid3n 08-10-2018 01:08 AM

Did you see this?!

non-restricted MP40 in 22lr and it's coming in 9mm :awwyeah:

It seems easy to spiral down the collection rabbit hole, especially since older milsurps aren't likely to have stashes left to hit the market anymore so prices will only go up. There are lots that I want to get but I'm limiting myself to the stuff I already have for now. Quite a few I think I'd be satisfied just getting to try out for a day but I don't think there's anywhere you can do that with old stuff.

HOLY FUCK, IT FINALLY CLEARED RCMP?!

lol i am for sure getting one, i already have the STG44 lol

XSSIV 08-10-2018 10:05 PM

What's your opinion on the sgt44? I'd like one, but probably just have it as a wall hanger

Hondaracer 08-29-2018 05:53 PM

Any recommendations on a rifle scope? Around $600 taxes in hopefully?

On my 7mm I still have the Bushnell elite that I got when I bought the gun about 12 years ago. Looking for a glass upgrade. Don’t even know what size I should look into etc
