If you want LS430 luxury and don't mind RHD:

$3500 Celsior

I'd rock this if it was closer:

An acquaintance of mine owned that Celsior previously, was not taken care of at all. The frame rails are all toast from being insanely low. Was beat on constantly lol... interior was always gross too. He sold it for $3500 few months back.

I can never get over the hunch back turtle rear end of those:heckno: I'm kinda tempted by the WRX but you probably need another 5gs for engine rebuild

ssjGoku69 10-20-2019 09:49 AM

I'm always wary when the seller doesn't post pictures of an entire side of the car. In that WRX example, the whole passenger side wasn't photographed. If it was intentionally not photographed, the seller might be intentionally not disclosing other issues as well. (if you're looking to pick it up)

Honda prelude manual 186k km - $2500

bcuzracecarz 10-20-2019 09:41 PM

Rare as all hell and well sorted, I don’t see this one losing value in the future. Never see these in this kind of condition

1996 Mustang SVT Cobra - Mystichrome

The Producer 10-21-2019 07:05 AM

^^ if you're into those - that's the holy grail.

Haven't watched prices lately, but that seems like a great deal based on condition and rarity alone. Would be a great addition to a multi car garage.

I hope you realize a 1/4 of the "clean title" cars on our roads are actually "rebuilt".

They’ve been for sale for quite some while, not not sure how great of a deal they are. But god damn they’re beautiful

your made up stat is completely irrelevant. Even if its true, the title is what matters because it is what affects the resale for the next buyer

fliptuner 10-22-2019 10:02 AM

Again, with rebuilt titled cars, the most important factors are the degree of damage and quality of repairs.

I just "rebuilt" a stolen recovery, where "damage" was that it needed a new key/fob. I have full dealership maintenance records, pre and post repair pics. There are tons of reasons why cars get a salvage/rebuilt title.

The CLK looks clean.
How reliable is the v8 engine and transmission?

tofu1413 10-22-2019 11:46 AM

should be a pretty decent motor but of course leaks will be commonly associated with these cars...

the old 3 valve, twin spark V8's were supposedly pretty solid, and I think theyre essentially the naturally aspirated equivalent of those supercharged E55's /CLS55 (correct me if im wrong)

along with expensive brake jobs and probably rear tires that are cooked.

but other wise thats a nice AMG cruiser for the money.

My brother's 2005 sl55 amg is still going strong after 120,000km. Since he owned it brand new the only stuff he's had to do so far are engine mounts, spark plugs, belts, hydraulic pump for the oem air ride suspension, trunk latch soft close sensor, trunk hydraulic struts, replace both batteries and regular maintenance. In terms of the engine, supercharger and transmission and diff, completely solid and no issues.

My uneducated assumption is that because Joe Consumer is too stupid to glance at the manual or even just press a new button to see what it does they stopped spending money putting all the cool little features in cars. Vehicles from the first decade of this millennium could come with all kinds of stuff that I sorely miss seeing.
