dw i'm never gonna find another E36 M3/4/5 for a reasonable cost lol those days are long gone

There's also a strong "I know what I have" mentality among sellers, so it's a bit of a tough market.

ya - market has changed. there's just not that many any more. Anything that has been used has bumps and bruises and miles.

Still see an occasional decent E36 M3 in the mid teens. there was a pretty good looking auto car (with a manual swap included) just in the past few weeks for 15? i think

Time marches on tho. decent 10k E36 M3's were 15 years ago now.

define reasonable cost. yours was an absolute clapper. i'd say you could find one like that again for not much more money if you kept your ear to the ground. they've calmed down since covid.

i think i could probably get low to mid 20's for mine.

BIC_BAWS 01-30-2026 08:49 PM

It was great that it was an absolute clapper. That's the best thing about it. Engine/Trans was very reliable, all interior components worked, trash body but whatever. I gave zero shits about that car it was fantastic.

Oh and and and I did zero maintenance HAHA. Most clapped out cars require a TON of maint.

It was ironically my most reliable BMW, no leaks either.

RabidRat 02-02-2026 01:17 PM

Ah... I think he meant NA like naturally aspirated. As opposed to the Mazdaspeed turbo NB?

roastpuff 02-02-2026 01:19 PM

Oops. Yes NB. 10K still a lot.

Matsuda 02-03-2026 12:02 AM

yeah 10k is a lot for my old miata...considering i sold it with most of those mods for like $6k back in the day

dark0821 02-03-2026 06:42 PM

depends on your wallet... i am considering it because I can drive the piss out of the car.... not worry too much about consumables... and get out the car at $6K at the very minimum at any time?

Unless I crash it, I cant see the NB being sold under $5K....

What are these based on? What's so good about it besides being a convertible, but perfect for boomers and coffee and hauling car parts

Corvette Powered weird pickup? Never been my cup of tea, but I’ve heard they are fun to drive.

Ding 02-04-2026 10:37 PM

Its the only car you need. Truck, convertible, Rwd, Corvette engine
