ooooo MR-S is priced better than a Miata, that's not bad actually.

twitchyzero 02-11-2020 07:17 AM

are they as hard/cramped to work and liftoff oversteery as sw20's?

Definitely easier to drive than an SW20. I've driven all 3 gens, an MR-S most recently, and it was very fun and very easy to drive hard.

From above at least the engine bay is the most cramped of the three, though it doesn't really look much worse than most modern cars. The cabin is the roomiest though.

1986 Mazda RX-7 with only 76'000km. Not sure if its a good deal at $5800, but looks in really great shape and figured a few here might be fans of RX-7 in this gen.

^^ let's just say he won't take 4k for it apparently.

loving these 10k e46 m3's - desirable colour here, one owner, good deal pending a little subframe peek. no google image hits, pic is DT.

It's SMG though ... I thought that was something to stay away from. Is that the reason why it is the cheapest one on CL.

The Producer 02-11-2020 10:06 PM

not really - it's a cool transmission. the pumps do go out, and for all we know that might be why the car is so cheap.

upside is that it is a "relatively" cheap manual swap. The trans is the same (needs minor machining or a manual bell housing), you have to replace the SMG gear actuation system w a manual setup. It's becoming quite common w the prices of OG manual cars being so much higher.

bottom line is that's a cheap low mile chassis. A clean manual car might be 25k+ and rising. There's a lot of room in the kitty if you can turn a wrench yourself to get it into shape and still be in the money

If this is the car I think it is. RR broken spring, sub frame cracked, oil pressure light stays on for a while after starting. Immobilizer doesn't recognize key sometimes. Cosmetically its typical for a DD.

tofu1413 02-12-2020 08:20 AM

richmond racing colors spec - white on red.

good info, I'd change the suspension, and send it out for subframe reinforcement anyways. oil pressure light would take it from take a chance to more thorough engine inspection though :heckno:
