just looks like another 90s mustang/talon/eclipse
and fd is my favourite 100% japanese design (nsx was pininfarina in concept, 2kgt was e-type inspired)

A 2GR-FE V6 in a Lexus is still a 2GR-FE V6 in a Toyota. Not like one will be more reliable than the other due to the badge.
An engine can have the same code but have variations, especially to the external components. They can easily choose to put something like a higher grade alternator with a longer service life on the Lexus variant.

if it's coming from the same plant i would expect quality to be consistent throughout the board

if anything wouldn't lexus specific parts have tighter tolerances in design?

Looked to be a minor accident. Maybe just bumper, grill, headlights, rebar, passenger airbag. I don't think the condenser or IC were even damaged.

For sale by owner - $13000 (Vancouver)

2006 2006 Lexus IS350

condition: excellent
cylinders: 6 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 97278
paint color: blue
size: mid-size
title status: clean
transmission: automatic
type: sedan

2006 Lexus IS350 . Second owner with low mileage of 97,278 km only. Original and just serviced at Richmond Lexus with new battery . New brakes with new cross drilled rotors in front . Joe Z exhaust and new 19 ISF rims and new Tires . A must see but no test pilots. Been babied and is in great running order.

Hate to sell as I don’t drive it very much at all .
It seems like is350 is pretty hard to come by. There are plenty of is250 on the market.

Most Is350's are still commanding low teens for 200km + examples. 100 more hp for 1 less mpg.

2010 370Z Touring - 6MT 118K $16.9K

Not a bad price. Most 370Z I've seen (in manual) cost at least 19-20K. Most are around 25-20K. And holy crap this car is 10 years old now.

2005 Nissan Sentra Spec V - 26,000km - M/T - $6.5K

I wonder if this car is actually worth 6.5K to drive cause at 26,000km aside from just wear from age, it's pretty much brand new. Also surprised these cars are from 2005, it really didn't age well. I've always wanted one. Anyone driven one?

2011 Honda CRZ Hybrid - M/T 153K km - $7.8K

I've been contemplating one of these as my daily, since that one week with the M3 was REALLY expensive in gas. Even more so than the 330. Granted, a much heavier foot. But yeah a daily that takes reg gas would be nice - esp with no US gas for awhile. Plus the Alex Fraser would have sucked with that stage 2 clutch in the M3 LOL. But I'll give it a shot in the CRZ, Honda clutches should be fine LOL.

Mugen CRZ would be cool too or supercharged CRZ.

Those sentra SE-R are known to have engine failures, as early as 60.000 KMS. My friends engine was toast at 61.000 and we had one at my dealership that had an engine replaced at 65.000kms. Also it has horrible torque steer for only 165hp.

^This. Shares the same 2.5 engine as the Nissan Altima. Badly designesld pre- cat and butterfly valve screws coming loose is what causes these engines to fail. Replacing the pre-cat with an aftermarket header and loctite on the butterfly valve screws will eliminate the above issues if you catch them before damage to the internals is done.

I think you will find with some reading online that the CR-Z, disappointingly, does not get any better mileage than a Civic of that era...

Also the IS350 I was told is sold pending an inspection with 4 more people lined up after that... people got money to burn right now

The others have already commented on the the issues with the Sentra Spec V's problematic engine, so I don't need to say anything more.

From the driver's POV, I thought the car was a ton of fun to drive though. Torque steer, yes. But the engine also really pulled hard from the low end. It's been too long since I have driven that car, and I don't remember what the high end was like. But ripping around in the low end to mid range during street use was a lot of fun. The factory LSD does what it can and really make the car claw hard around corners.

The materials of the interior was cheap as there was no hiding of the car's economy roots, but at least it felt well screwed together. I hated the look of the orangy red seats, but they were comfortable and I liked the bolsters.

IMO, it isn't worth $6500 despite the low mileage. If tegra7's suggestion to fix the problem is effective, not too expensive or troublesome, you could be landing yourself a fun-to-drive car that would still have a lot of life in it. But that's 3 if's all aligning their paths in the right way...

CR-Z with the HFP Supercharger kit looked interesting several years back. I've test driven a stock one with the 6MT and it's incredibly uninspiring and, as mentioned, it doesn't get any better mileage than a Civic of the same era (with significantly worse practicality and performance). Side visibility is not great, either.

It's a nice looking car, though, IMO.

I too test drove the 6spd at the dealership years ago, same takeaways as you. The interior was also surprisingly plasticky, just slabs and slabs of plastic that weren't textured enough, felt incredibly depressing even for Honda standards.

Wait for a CR-Z to show up with a dead battery, dc/dc converter or ima motor and swap a K into that.

That 91 miata looks good, Id like a clean original one. If I needed another car i'd make an offer on it.

Just curious, it seem like poeple here have multiple cars. How does everyone insured these things? Strorage insurance? You have to full ICBC insurance to leave them on the street, right?

Full insurance on DD and weekend car. I’m about 2 weeks away from renewing my weekend car and drove 5050km since last renewal. Missed out on the 10% off.
