Anything 58 and older you can do anything to it you want and still qualify for collector plates and cheap insurance. Guess it was done to appease hot rodders who need cheap insurance for their 100k cars.

I wish I could tell you. I can give you the usual BMW answers though. Cooling system and suspension bushings are the Achilles heel of every bmw ever made basically. If they haven't been done in the last 50k or so with documentation, budget 1k if you don't want to turn a wrench for each right off the bat. Other than that, consumables like brake pads and tires aren't cheap, and in a 400+ 4000lb super sedan they will likely go fast. I'd take a stab in the dark that 2000-2500 a year for maintenance would keep a mint car mint. Knight604 owns one, he can probably give you substantially better answers than I can.

• carbon build up in secondary air injection ports - bypass CEL
• dead pixels in cluster

holy crap. i spent at most around $200 for scheduled maintenance on my mustang this year... $2500 is very sobering to my fragile bank account :o

All subjective to the previous owner(s) maintenance upkeep, ive had mine for 2 years now.

Ive spent 100 on a oil change during both years.

So far thats 200 in maintanence and 1000+ in mods.

A brake job will probably be my next big-ish item , parts will depend on what brand you go with but for fronts and rears including rotors , pads and sensors will be about 325-500usd in parts.

My car was owned by a guy who was a car fanatic (owned 10 cars and his own shop) , he gave anything and everything it needed before handing it off to me. Pretty grateful for that.

I think it was $32k ish. It was on bcrotary. I think it was posted there a long while back. Anyhow if someone were in the market If all it really needs is a stock FD tranny it seems like a killer deal.

20k is pretty much the value of the swap and motor alone.

Keep in mind the cost of entry is less than half of what I assume it was for your mustang. Truth be told though what you spend less on the purchase of an older car you will often make up most of the difference in mods and maintenance. Either way it's gonna cost you, just depends what you like.

A) Lose the car payment (interest balloons the payment while depreciation deflates the value)

B) Replace it with something older for ease of work and 'lesser' build quality increases fun factor for me

***C) Career change is the main reason but reasons A & B are still applicable since it creates a win win for me

The other one is okay for a fair price, but this one is beat to shit with poor quality parts for an absurd price.

If a person wants to put out $7k for an Integra; they should look for a perfect GSR or up their budget a bit and look for a Type-R.

^ Precisely. The 912 was the poor man's Porsche anyways back then. From a distance it looks like you're driving a 911, until you show off your 90 hp 4-cyl engine.

If you desperately want to drive an old Porsche I suppose you could go for it, but I'd sooner spend more money on a newer 911. 20k for a rustbucket quasi-Porsche is not worth it.

That said, the appeal of bringing that green one back to life that's been sitting since 1976 is strong.
