That's all BMW's :lawl:

68style 12-24-2021 10:15 AM

Hah... I have been slowly working on an E30 325... I've found things to be quite economical! I got all new brakes, timing belt kit, valve cover seals and shocks... I even did the typical Euro owner thing and went brand name Continental/Bosch/KYB for that stuff... and it was like $450 all-in from Rockauto.

Picked up OEM bottlecap wheels with brand new tires for $300 on Craigslist and dumped the big fake 17" wheels that were on it for $350... the seller of the OEM bottlecaps was a super helpful and nice guy to talk to as well.

So far my E30 experience has been pretty great! Just some riff raff like westopher that you have to put up with :)

1 power lock = $3000
1 right head light projector housing = $2000

Not to mention that that gen BMW is bland as hell.

Sounds like a prime car to just part out if a door lock and headlight alone will cover the purchase price lol.

just seems like a avg deal to me for 171k and a first model year sq5

bcuzracecarz 12-27-2021 02:39 PM

At least with the sq5 the motor, tranny, and drivetrain are all transferred over from the S4 that came out in 2010 so solved some of the troubled areas it originally had…plus most of these aren’t ragged on or modded like the S4s.

jpark 12-27-2021 04:59 PM

^sq5s are tiptronic auto not dsg. Which is actually better imo. S4 dsg wasnt the greatest, the jerkyness killed me at slow speeds all the time

$2200, 07, GD Honda Fit, manual, 226k, sport bodykit. Cheap beater.

Traum 12-27-2021 05:04 PM

Rebuilt title -- not sure whether this affects it being a decent or bad deal.

For a $2k beater, I probably wouldn't care. If it runs good and straight and everything works, good enough. Half the price of a clean titled one

I'm the riff raff? I'm usually here to help, I just don't do it that gently.:whipped:

I doubt it as 86 are still in production unlike S2K.

I thought guys were saying the gen ones were problematic cuz early years had oiling issues? And motors can't hold up to much power? NB NC better buy? Looking for my next toy car :accepted:

EvoFire 01-02-2022 11:44 AM

NC is about equal in a straight line in despite only making 160hp.

Neither responds particularly well to mods as they are both eco motors.

You can 2.5 swap a NC which gives you tons of usable torque but not much more hp.

BBR does some kits that take the HP to 200+ HP, but I don't think it'll be a good bang for your buck. NC market is really dry atm.
