Yeah, it's a fair point. I bought an almost new Evo X in 2010 for less than that (though they seem to have gone up in price as we devalue our currency).
It is a lot of fun driving around in a unique car though, so I can see why he's charging a premium.

Sold my trade in privately and tried a straight cash offer on the light blue car. Dealership won’t budge.
Oh well - something else will present itself eventually.
