How are corvettes they are growing on me, according to the YouTubers they seem cheap fun, relatively reliable and pretty good on gas? But then I'll need Oakley's and new balance

I can't with those headlights, looks like a China version of a NA2 when they never seen one and some one described it over a phone.

Vettes, like most American products, are under appreciated for what they are. People give GM shit for pushrods, fords for live rear axels, but praise Porsche for sticking with their ass engine beetles.

Car snobbery at its best. Spoiler alert below, z06 beats GT3 and is a better everyday car that’s also 100k less.

We should all try the ct4 black wing and ct6 black wing but I haven’t seen a single one on the road.
Great performance cars according to all the reviews but nobody buys them cuz it’s American.

I hate car snobbery so much

twitchyzero 04-21-2023 11:42 PM

even if you got the funds, not like you can buy either

Would have loved to have owned a CTS-V wagon back in the day and the CT5 BW looks awesome but the Vette is ugly. I suppose I would love driving it but for that kind of money I'd want my car to look great too.

Badhobz 04-22-2023 07:33 AM

if i win the lottery tomorrow, id commission a Mines GTR

68style 04-22-2023 07:47 AM

I love the CT5-V Blackwing... but even with zero options it's starting at $102,000 CAD.............

I'd rather get the M3 sedan at $98,000 between the 2 of them I think... and it's not because I think the M3 is faster or I don't love the CT5 V8 rumble... but it's because I know the Cadillac is going to lose at least 40% of it's value in the first couple years. That sucks.

CT4 blackwing is the one you should get. everyone says its way better than the ct5 and its quite affordable to be honest. 80k loaded? 70k stripper i think.

JDMDreams 04-22-2023 11:32 AM

Well the c8 was only supposed to be like $75000

hud 91gt 04-22-2023 11:37 AM

Cause I like Fieros right now.

donk. 04-22-2023 12:34 PM

Don't like the C5, owned a C6, want a C7, C8s are ugly "Camaro rear" boats

First world problems continue...

Badhobz 04-22-2023 12:47 PM

The c8 isn’t thattt bad looking. At least it’s different vs everything else out there.

Gosh... every time I see NC prices like this, I wanna give my 2020 self a kick in the nuts for selling the car so early and at such a dirt cheap price. :yuno:

Which gen of the Vette do you like though? Much like the Miata, Cayman, 911, etc., you want to figure out the generation that you're interested in first, and then you can look further into it. Each generation has some quirks and weak spots that you'd want to be aware of, and you don't really want to just dive into one without doing your homework first.

C5, C6, and C7 are all impressive in their own rights, mind-bogglingly so with C6 / C7.

I don't think the NC will ever dip down to 10k again. The one I bought was the absolute cheapest at 10k with 110 on it.

headhunt3r 04-24-2023 10:53 AM

NC1's dip down to the low teens but that's the closest I've seen recently.

Then again, 2 can dines at McD's isn't $10 anymore either.

JDMDreams 04-24-2023 12:14 PM

I think c5, I thought it was too boomer but it seems like a cheap one to get into without too much commitment

I've seen higher mileage 5 speed NC1's at 10k or below, but GT's were 12-13k pre-pandemic. An NC2 at $16k is a steal if everything checks out. I still think they're the best bang for your buck in terms of Miatas. NC2/NC3 PRHT's are $20-30k...

It looks very clean. Does anyone know if these lower displacement 6's worth it? I feel like they would prob get about the same fuel economy whilst making quite a bit less power.

68style 04-24-2023 02:55 PM

Good ol 320i... remember working at BMW and seeing almost every one of these go out the door debadged so people wouldn't know it was a 320i lol

This is accurate. This is also the same case as the 325i's.

Also btw, the 330i/ci's get larger brakes front and rear(?). Front for sure. I swapped mine onto Skunkworks' 325i wagon LOL.

headhunt3r 04-24-2023 05:34 PM

Is rust a problem with the e46's? The one I saw had some surface rust at the hood latch and this one seems to have a spot at the trunk latch?

That car might be priced well enough as a manual donor.
