Dude. I literally go through at least 2 a month. You’ll never have to look for spare parts. Hurryupandbai. You know it's the perfect daily. Just make sure you get an 06-08.

If you can get it for $28000-30000 and it doesn't have horrible frame damage seems ok? :considered: never had a rebuilt car though

whitev70r 05-05-2023 02:56 PM

^ for me, safety is one thing. Even if you can ensure that there was no major frame damage, it's the resale value when you try to unload it later. It will always carry that 'scarlet letter' of rebuilt on the title.

headhunt3r 05-05-2023 03:11 PM

IMO depends on the damage and also how long you'd plan to keep the car for. A friend bought an auction truck with weird splatter on the paint everywhere. Got the whole truck painted and plans to keep it long term. That seems fine to me.

Gerbs 05-05-2023 03:26 PM

Rebuilt that are bought at a steal price are worth it, when you resell it, it's not that bad if you price it super cheap too.

trollface 05-05-2023 04:32 PM

I'm not buying a rebuilt unless it's $500. 99% of them are hack jobs by garages so they can make a quick buck.

Eeee...hhh... I wouldn't go that far. I haven't been in an Audi for an extensive period of time but I'd argue all the touch points are worse than a C6 A6 lol. Hell even a Genesis has better touch points than the Golf R. It creaks more than an E46 and that's saying something.

As many have said - it's a fast Golf. If it's not for spectrum colour + ACC/lane keep/traffic jam assist, I'd go next.

Needs inspection but for the price, it looks like a decent fun cruiser for the nice months coming up.

radeonboy 05-07-2023 11:41 AM

V60 or V90 T6 Polestar?

whitev70r 05-07-2023 02:06 PM

Speaking of wagons, a good low mileage at 172K kms, 05 AWD Legacy GT ... it is auto but ... looks like a trade in, at Docksteader so you know it will have a good look over and a bit of peace of mind. Asking price a bit on the high side but it's at a dealer. Good winter daily.

My friend had one of those, it had many issues, ended up selling it and the engine went on the new owner two weeks later.....

whitev70r 05-07-2023 04:32 PM

oh ...

EvoFire 05-07-2023 06:39 PM

The banjo bolt filter to the turbo is known to get clogged and the turbo get starved of oil. Typical solution is undo the banjo and remove the filter, or just trade for a STI turbo.

If it's gone this many km it's probably safe.
