While not the same thing, an acquaintance of mine had an Audi RS3 and it was in the shop so much that Audi Canada bought the car back from them. They drove all but 200KM on it.

Oh, engine wise, it would be the same wouldn't it? Maybe acquaintance just got a lemon? In Europe, Audi RS3 is generally reliable ... for an Audi that is.

I like your caveat "for an Audi"
Correct. It's not the same engine. Hard to say for sure if his unit was a lemon example or if all of them were lemons. It definitely left a sour taste in his mouth.

My buddy that had a 2018 rs3 had a great experience for 5 years of ownership. Not sure if that translates to the newer ones though

I agree there is no lemon law in Canada but I think he mentioned he took Audi Canada to arbitration or something and they settled it by taking the car back. He ended up getting a base Macan.
I will concede that the guy is 1. an acquaintance and 2. quite possibly a big bullshitter

Power delivery is super surgey and weak in the detuned EA888.
CX-5 Turbo is the FAR better car, drove these back to back at auto mall.

2009 S4 Avant LHD (JDM) for $17.5k. I'm not sure about the price but it is a wagon and it's pretty neat.

Here is a low mileage, 2010 NA A4 Avant for price comparison (not apples to apples, per se) - https://www.facebook.com/share/1GR5i6nXMZ/
