What should you look out for for the 2000 ap1's?

On the test drive, make sure you take the car onto the highway and give her a good rip up to 100 km/h if you can.
Pay attention for any vibrations from the rear.

Check the top to see if there are any rips or tears. Ask the owner if the top has been changed as the MY00 cars have the plastic rear windows that usually go cloudy and crack over time. The one in the pics look clear still.

Seller could be ignoring you because you didn't read the ad properly.

Hmm, interesting find. Plenty of mods, pretty easy fix. But potential water damage. Did the right thing by stripping the interior. I feel like you could throw him an offer and he'll take it. Hell of a track car.

But who knows about the hidden issues from the water damage. Hmm...

If the pictures are from after the roll I'd jump on it, worst case you could probably part it out for more than it's being sold for.

That's like not buying a house because you don't like the paint colour :rukidding: just take them off and sell them to someone for a grand and walk away laughing.

Gerbs are you meeting the fellow tonight at Fraser and 157th? There is a showing of the s2000 for a 'group' of people.

und3f3at3d 11-16-2015 09:11 AM

lol thats such a dick move, unless its like 1 by 1 basis, theyre probably trying to start a bidding war

To be fair to the seller, he priced it aggressively so he is probably getting more than a few interested people. Rather than trying to set up individual meetings he is trying to get it done quicker.

I agree, it will most likely turn into a bidding war, someone will probably just throw 11.5k at him and tell him they'll take it as is (not saying anything is wrong with it).

Not as bad as a guy who came to look at one of my cars once, and then told 2 other people that were also selling cars to meet him at my house so he could see all 3 at once. But didn't tell anyone he did that. We were all pissed and told him to gtfo

I'm considering going

yray 11-16-2015 12:49 PM

RS showing meet tonight?

punkwax 11-16-2015 12:49 PM

Did seller encourage you bring deposit? That's a shady area for a bunch of people with cash in their pockets to meet up at if you ask me. Don't want to seem paranoid, but felt compelled to share my opinion.

Gerbs 11-16-2015 01:11 PM

Do you think over 10 people will turn out

JHatta 11-16-2015 01:16 PM

Dunno.

TBH, I am 99% sure it's going to turn into a bidding war, and I am not prepared to go over 11.5K. So no real point in going other than to look at his car in some parking lot. I assume the guys with cash will be able to test drive it, while the other people wait?

Multiple offer situation. Crazy. I'm not sure about the group showing thing though.
The seller could tell everyone they are not viewing offers until a specific day and time.
