Yep I saw the whole thing. Well, they refused to list it for anything other than a ridiculously low price.
I mean, the cars not a collector car, which seems to be all anyone cares about nowadays.
Resale value is all that matters to "enthusiasts."

Hilarious watching that auction. Pretty polarizing. I'm in the "the person who didn't drive a car for 22 years just to make a "profit" that doesn't even meet the cost of inflation, lost badly" camp, obviously. There is an s54 swapped LTW for sale for 40k, and that peaks my interest much more.

Link to swapped LTW?

trollguy 02-06-2017 03:44 PM

i read it over at RL Stine 1995 BMW M3 LTW - Rennlist Discussion Forums

Damn now I am suspicious if it is trolls placing fake ads to bring the market down

I think its always safe to assume that people who use "stock" photos for their ads are fake, its even more fake then people who dont use pictures.

that car has been for sale for the better part of a year. i think it was 8k last time i saw it. I think n54 + higher mileage + awd scares a lot of people... although 6900 is starting to make it seem pretty attractive.

Mehhhh PM'd him.

Price wise he won't be getting 40K out of me... maybe 30K.

Edit: More on the price, read through both the RL and M3F threads, lots of dickriders with no money saying it's a great deal/underpriced but nobody stepping up to pay 40K... because yeah, it's not such a great deal. LTW vin or not, you're essentially buying a tracked E36 M3 w/ S54 swap. Not a bad deal if you sell the spare wheels and Motons... and the chassis/interior isn't totally haggard.

LTW carries a massive collector tax and is really only a "special" car in the USA, it pales in comparison to an E36 M3 GT, I would hazard a guess that the E36 M3 GT (3xx made IIRC) sells for much less than a USDM LTW these days.

westopher 02-06-2017 05:59 PM

You can find a gt for less than the LTWs, and its a superior car for sure.

Find me one lol

GT has been on my list for a while, love the green.

westopher 02-06-2017 06:12 PM

Already on it dude.
How many KMS and how much you want to spend?
I found 9 to choose from. 45k up to about 85k. They have gone up about 20% in the last 6 months.

Nvm lol $$$$$

I'll just keep looking for R32 hahaha

SkunkWorks 02-06-2017 08:54 PM

Hey Chris, hit me up with dem GT links. :)

westopher 02-06-2017 09:04 PM

Will do tomorrow. Just about to head to bed. I'd love to see someone bring one over. I'm too invested (financially and emotionally) with my car to swap it out for something so similar.

How bout LS'd E36? :ilied:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5990052758.html

I wonder how many miles they've put on the swap.

20k CAD. I don't think you'd find (certainly can't have built) a sorted S54 swap for that

EDIT: or go grab this non-m Z3 shoe in FL (roadtrip!) and I'll buy it from you after you do all the work to import it then get bored https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-Z3-Coupe-2-8L

westopher 02-07-2017 12:02 PM

I was asking Lauren if I could buy that shoe on the premise that the dog fits perfectly in the hatch.

tofu1413 02-07-2017 01:05 PM

Z3 coupes - perfect enthusiast and dog lover car.

looks interesting... but i wonder about the unlisted mileage.

Traum 02-07-2017 01:45 PM

The "I-Vtec Eco Boost motor" bit also doesn't sound too confidence inspiring...

thumper 02-07-2017 01:49 PM

not sure about the "boost" part but is this the engine that can do cylinder deactivation?
