I've been watching these too, hilarious how much of a premium there is for these cars in North America.

Emailed the local R32 seller, price is fair considering the market for these cars south of the border. Hopefully he still has the stock wheels.

Edit: Talked to seller, might not be an "award winning" seller.. see how it goes I guess.

Well that is interesting! Was thinking about importing an Audi S3 from Japan as the next winter ride but that could be an interesting candidate. I wonder if the auction prices on the R32's will jump as soon as they're importable to Canada?

Perhaps initially, but you could always buy one now and simply pay to store it in Japan until it's eligible date for import.

For those in the know, wondering what makes the FWD more appealing than the XC70 AWD version. Reliability? Love the quirkiness of these but never seriously looked into it because fwd...

Also, whats considered low mileage for these volvos? Asking because original post is now gone but plenty of examples pop up here and there and they're not asking for much.

The AWD angle gear usually goes around 200K km mark, then you can remove driveshaft and use it as FWD or replace the thing for >$800-$1000. In previous winters, here in Vancouver, a FWD V70 with snow tires does quite well ... better than an AWD with A/S ... but then this winter with snowmaggeden hits. The FWD comes in 2.4 (168hp), 2.5T (200hp) or 2.3L T5 (235 hp) and the T5 is the rare one, pretty preppy and responsive, actually rarely do I see one posted for sale.

As for what is good mileage, no different than any other car, anything less than 15K per year is pretty good to me. That one was 155K for a 17 year old car, pretty low in my books.

From the text of the GT-R ad.

What.a.total.douche.

"it's worth $90k but i dont care for making money off it because im rich and i don't want this to be a hassle to get rid of."...........never raced, only shown off."

Also says he's bringing it from his Dad's home in Australia which could explain the gumtree ad.

the australian ad says 2000. the craigs ad says 2001.

also the background in the pictures match this japanese exporter site:

Japanese Used Cars from Auction and Stock | TOPRANK TRADING

... so the australian ad could be bogus as well. meh.
