Haha, apparently Sestito is auditioning to be a standup comedian?

Quote:
“I’m happy — what did I have, seven third assists tonight?”
Quote:
He also got under the skin of the opposition and took exception to Martin Hanzal hacking Chris Higgins on the winger’s third-period power-play goal. Hanzal also threatened to get Sestito next game.

“How am I going to sleep over Christmas now?,” laughed Sestito.

Because, despite the move away from goons, there's still a market for them. And, despite the complete lack of offensive skill that Scott brings to the table, he is fairly versatile as he can shift between the wing and defense (he was a regular 3rd pair defenseman for the Wild, the Blackhawks used him primarily as a dman but used him occasionally at forward, and he's been primarily used as a forward since, but he's still shown he can be a reliable 3rd pair crease-clearing dman when he's been called upon to play that role).

Also, not sure if you're aware of the recent history between the Ducks (specifically Jackman) and the Sharks, but Jackman has been taking cheap shots and runs at Vlasic and Couture for the past couple of seasons. Scott's there to keep guys like Jackman in check.

If Sestito had done that to Hanzal last night, I would've been happy and I think most Canucks fans would feel the same way.

I think if its a playoff game id be pretty pissed. Scott was lucky to not receive a penalty on that play. Payback is great but if you get into habits like that you only hurt your team. A minor cross-check or shot to the body is fine, but a full on headshot? Not something id want to see my team doing.

Unless some of the veterans(Burrows, Hansen, Higgins, etc.) get traded, there are very limited spots on the roster.

We do have a nice set of young forwards coming up, but still need to get more D prospects.

cant fault the goalie for that one dude
Virtanen's teammates are already in the play, goalie cant be overly aggressive on him
JV was also to the far left, so hes gotta stick to the post

BAGM mode, Burr stays and Higg goes to open up a spot for an offensively gifted Virtanen

Though, don't get me wrong with Horvat in the line up, you're right completely. We really do have promising young forwards coming up.

Yep not the goalie's fault. There's not much room to shoot. Virtanen was quicker that the goalie on that shot for sure. The goalie probably (incorrectly) assumed he was going to cut across, hence the lean. But even then, he didn't cheat that much.

But to your point, had the goalie gone into reverse VH a la Jon Quick that option wouldn't have been available for Virtanen. But not everyone can move around on their knees like Quick, which is why not every goalie in the NHL uses it.

With a surname like "Quick", it's almost like he was destined to be a goalie - a successful one too!

Remember we had a goalie named Troy Gamble?

It's not his fault the GM isn't able to ice a competent team.

Brutal defense by SVK on that Domi goal. Both dmen just wave at him, neither take the body or get a body part/stick in the shooting lane.

Hell of a snipe by Domi.
