there was knowledge, specifically during the ohl draft. a lot of the people thought that his dad just wanted him being closer to home, but his interactions kept
getting worse. kinda screamed lindros situation to me. imo it left hodgson entitled and unwilling to work on the bad parts of his game, dana murzynish skating :heckno:

Not a fucken chance, we have moved on and sadly someone that had so much potential had his career ruined from the cockiness his dad gave him. The Canucks don't need someone like that in the dressing room

Jmac 06-11-2015 10:10 PM

We don't have a spot for him. If we're going to to get a centre, it should be a legit 2nd line centre. Bonino and Horvat are both better than CoHo is and, realistically, neither of them should be a 2nd line centre next season.

punkwax 06-11-2015 10:31 PM

I disagree about Horvat. He deserves a good look at top 6 duties next season IMO after the potential he displayed. I'm not saying its a lock, but he should be given an opportunity with offensive wingers.

And to answer the question, yes, I'd give CoHo a look. Only if it were a free look though and his camp were told to stfu if he wants a chance to have an NHL career. However, I don't see that happening, especially with what was made public when he left!

CRS 06-11-2015 11:30 PM

I agree with giving Horvat the opportunity to play on the second line. I don't think Bonino is going to be doing much better. Maybe this'll push him or both to them to have better seasons?

That's like his only moment in his NHL career

Problem with CoHo is that he's not gritty enough for a bottom 6 role and not good enough for a top 6 role.

6o4__boi 06-12-2015 04:46 PM

dear jesus the ahl live feed sucks balls lol...i can't believe people pay money for this shit

Down 4-2 and Utica fucks up a 1:30 2 man advantage...that was exactly like watching a Canucks powerplay play shittier which i didn't even know was possible.

Horvat deserves a look in the top 6, but we shouldn't bet next season on a sophomore (sophomore slump isn't uncommon) and we know Bonino isn't an ideal 2nd line centre (even he indicated as much).

Would feel more comfortable if we could get a guy like Ribeiro on a 1-year deal (or trade for a vet top 6 C with 1 year left) to play in that #2 slot.

If Horvat proves himself capable of handling the #2 job, it'd be easy to trade Bonino or the pending UFA.

XplicitLuder 06-12-2015 05:45 PM

bonino would be better 3rd line C than trading him imo.. he doesnt cost much and he has potential (ie what he showed first half of the season) i think ppl just expected him to be ryan kesler reincarnated lol

Tim Budong 06-12-2015 07:35 PM

Having both Horvat and Bonino is great. They can compete for the second line slot
but for fuck sake, I dont want to go through another season of saying.. we have a top line and 3 3rd lines at best sorta deal....

tonyzoomzoom 06-12-2015 07:46 PM

well, me thinks we actually have one 2nd line and 3 3rd lines ;)

A 2nd line featuring two top-15 scorers and a 31-goal scorer?

Not many teams where that's a 2nd line ...

Ya it's easy to find two other guys that can land in the top 10 scoring list. They're every fucking where. :rukidding:

punkwax 06-12-2015 10:08 PM

Sedins are like Rodney Dangerfield.

Obsideon 06-12-2015 10:13 PM

Well to be fair, the last few cup winners have been rolling two 1st lines and a 3rd line that is better than most other teams' 2nd line.

68style 06-13-2015 08:22 AM

I hope our prospects develop bloody fast cuz the Sedins numbers are going to drop off quite a bit in the next few years if they follow that same statistical pattern most other impact players do and they will be a great second line, but definitely not a first one anymore at that point.

Devastator 06-13-2015 03:17 PM

I'm hoping we give the young kids a shot. Bring as many kids up and have them on the team with the sedins around. Its not everyday you have 2 guys on the same team pulling magic tricks against elite nhlers for the past 10 years. If the prospects can learn half the stuff the sedins pull off we should be in a good spot in a few years.

6o4__boi 06-13-2015 03:30 PM

lol comets bout to get domed...

i know its the AHL and all but this series is almost bang on when it comes to what a Kings-Canucks playoff series would look like.
