+1
This is going to be a flop. If I'm paying for a non-subsidized phone, not having external SD card support is almost a slap in the face nowadays.

SpartanAir 10-15-2014 05:43 PM

Damn. Too much money. I have a N5, but want an upgrade. OnePlusOne it is then...

FOREVER 10-15-2014 05:44 PM

The price made me cry. If it was <=600 I would have still hopped on it but now its got a price of the note4

Drow 10-15-2014 06:46 PM

Was waiting to jump from broken screen n5 to n6, guess ill be googling how to fix screen now ~_~

StylinRed 10-15-2014 07:29 PM

I like the phone but what's the point of Nexus without the pricing

ah well not like I was going to grab the N6, my N5 is still great and I'm hoping when the Z4 gets released it will have a camera upgrade finally

vitaminG 10-15-2014 07:41 PM

the first two nexus phones were premium priced. people act like its their right to get a cheap nexus phone. Im sure googles partners werent too thrilled about having google sell phones at a loss.

if i was in the market for a phone this would probably be top of my list, its competitive with anything else on the market and it has the advantages of being a nexus device.

StylinRed 10-15-2014 08:49 PM

A loss? I thought they sold it at the wholesalers cost from play that's why retailers had to charge roughly $100 more when they offered/sold the N5...that's hardly a loss

other than having the latest iteration of android a little bit sooner and under a blank slate there isn't exactly any "advantages of being a nexus device"

vitaminG 10-15-2014 09:27 PM

well maybe not at a loss but im sure they were making less profit than say LG or samsung.

and that is pretty much the main advantage and also you get the plain vanilla android without extra crap from carriers/manufacturer. whereas if i root my S5 it trips a hardware flag and my warranty if void, to me thats worth a fair bit

Gh0stRider 10-15-2014 09:31 PM

is the price on par with the note4?

yep...the first 3 iterations were in the $500-600+ range and were game changers even in the hardware dept

N1 was the 1st to sport 1GHz SoC
NexS was 1st to have NFC
GNex brought the HD screen

N4 & N5 were basically playing catch-up to Samsung/HTC/Sony but were great bang for buck and helped google's cloud services.

Some will argue the $650 N6 can redeem the entire Nexus line if the camera performs well and has great battery life....which are the 2 most common complaints of past Nexus handsets. I doubt there's anyone out there defending its extra $100 canadian tax though.

Watch them bring back the Nexus 7 next year...as a 4K smartphone unlocked for $799 CAD :heckno:

Nexus6 - 750CAD
Note4 - 799.95CAD Pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from Bell Mobility

So ish? LOL

Mr.HappySilp 10-15-2014 10:10 PM

If it was around $450 to $500 I might get it as a Xmas present for myself but $749 no thanks.

asian_XL 10-16-2014 12:55 AM

I have problem fitting my Note2 and ip6+ in my pocket, 6" is just ridiculous. I hate using my wife's T2 Ultra because of the silly size.

DanHibiki 10-16-2014 01:57 AM

Lollipop looks good

Agreed. I can swallow a price hike to ~$500 mark. But $749? :heckno:

FerrariEnzo 10-16-2014 06:37 PM

Well.. I might as well wait for OnePlus Two... lol looks like this is the new Best Bang for the buck smartphone...

6inch screen@@ I got a Sony xperia C3 and that huge but the bezel makes it even bigger than the 1+1. But there seems to be some lag issue. Not sure if the T2 Ultra have the same issue.

Oh and the front facing camera is nice but the back camera is totally crap. is a 8MP camera and with auto only gets you 5MP.

terkan 10-17-2014 12:01 AM

if this phone is what you like, the feature is what you need, then i don't think you should be complaining about the price point.. feature and spec wise.. is it inferior to say an iphone 6? no.. is it inferior to galaxy s5? no.. is it inferior to all the high end premium phones on the market from any of the big companies? no.. then i don't think you can complain to them about the price point.. coz it's still the same/cheaper than other phones of the same spec.. you can say well my old n5 n4 whatever is cheap! well they are literally selling at cost.. and honestly i just think it's google's way of getting ppl to try android.. and now that they have more than enough android users.. there's no need for them to not gouge and make as much as other brands.. can you blame them? i'm not going to buy a nexus 6.. but i'm sure there's still plenty that will. if they are willing to pay 750 for a samsung galaxy or 850 for a iphone 6+ or 850 for a 64gb iphone 6.. i'm sure ppl will pay 750 for a nexus 6 if they like the phone enough.
