they can call it "The NEW Nexus 7"

Traum 04-24-2015 10:50 PM

God, no... FailFish We already have 2 versions of the Nexus 7, and that's more than enough...

Anyone on RS still using the Nexus 6?

Even though the phone is about a year old now, is it still consider a power house in terms of power and usability?

Nexus 6 price drops further to $299, but not for long | 9to5Google

Currently there's another price drop on the phone, it's $300 USD.

When everything is said and done, should be about $450 CAD after taxes.

At that price you're still getting an awesome phone imo. But it's just too big for my taste.

At ~Cdn$450, the most comparable and best-bang-for-the-buck alternative is still the Asus Zenfone2. There are pluses and minuses to both phones, and I don't think you can go wrong with either option.

I'm still using the Nexus 6, but I've pre-ordered the 6p. Couldn't resist a new Nexus.

The Nexus 6 is a great deal at even $450CAD. Other than the fact that I find it a bit too wide, it's still a very good phone. Battery life is much improved in Android M.

I'll be selling my 6 in ~3 weeks for $400-450 if anyone's interested ;)

Pretty hard sell at the moment. Got lots of lowballers for 300 at the moment when I'm trying to sell for similar pricing.

Yeah I had a feeling it's going to be a hard sell. Nexus phones aren't super popular to begin with. An expensive 6" phablet one that isn't called "Samsung" or "Galaxy" is likely going to be impossible to get anything near it's value back.

!MiKrofT 10-11-2015 07:52 PM

We'll see. I'm not in a real rush to sell it anyways.

After using the Nexus 6 for a couple of weeks now, it's an absolute beast of a phone, especially given at the fact it's price aggressively at $299 USD. Here's a quick review on the phone.

Things I like about the phone:
-Price point at $299 USD
-Absolutely spoiled by the stereo speakers on the phone, never going back to single speaker
-Stock android experience, none of the bloat ware crap.
-Large screen at 6 inches, may vary with other people
-Quick charging abilities
-Wireless Charging (niche feature but convenient before bedtime

Things I don't like:
-Poorly calibrated AMOLED screen, very common thing with the Nexus 6, low brightness settings causes a strong pink hue on white background
-No finger print scanner, but that's debatable, even though prototype model initially had a finger print scanner

This phone I'll definitely recommend it over the one plus one, even though it's half the storage space compared to it.

Waiting for next year for google to have a fire sale on the Nexus 6P to jump on that bandwagon.
