Some how managed to get today off work, so I'm loading up my Kindle Paperwhite with the Thrawn origin novel, Outbound Flight. Haven't read it yet and, while I know it's no longer canon, I need something to pass the time before my showing starts tonight. Also, https://softbodysweethearts.files.wo...es-meme-03.jpg :lol |
Just came back from watching the movie, and without giving anything away, all I can say is, I am left absolutely awestruck. If spoilers are A-OK now, here are my 2 bits: Spoiler! |
Awesome movie. I was a little nit picky about the minor things like everyone said in the spoilers. But also... Spoiler! |
OK, here is another spoiler I can't hold back -- it's really bugging me so I gotta let this one out too: Spoiler! |
good movie. right in the feels. Spoiler! |
Traum: Spoiler! |
Great movie. It definitely wasn't without faults, though there are precious few of movies that exist, but still a good movie. MAJOR SPOILERS INSIDE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Spoiler! |
Not that I mind using spoiler tags, but why would you even come into this thread if you haven't seen the movie! anyways.. Spoiler! |
Re Freakshow: Spoiler! |
Also, if you haven't seen the movie, don't press the button on the 16" animatronic Kylo Ren that makes him talk. One of the lines he spouts is a semi spoiler. |
Just finished watching...dunno if I can sleep rightaway tonight. Perfect timing too, I just finished rewatching the old trilogy two days ago. I gotta say JJ did the series good. That was my biggest worry coming in, that he'd bastardize the series. But there was so much nostalgia ingrained even in the details. I was too lost in nostalgia to really notice flaws...definitely gonna grab me a copy and rewatch a few times. |
I never mentioned this yet, so i thought i should, but the new characters were all great and likable, i was worried they wouldn't be able to hold their own, like so many new faces, but these roles were all very well cast |
Just some questions/thoughts that the movie left me with after watching it last night. Spoiler! |

As it turned out, those fears were unfounded - this really FELT like a continuation of the original story. The references and nods to the originals worked well, without seeming cheesy or heavy-handed (as much as I like Star Trek Into Darkness, it really danced on that line). Things happened pretty much as I think they should have. My one big remaining question/quandry now is... Spoiler! |

Great movie all around. Yes, we could dissect it into itty bitty pieces and talk about what it could have been and while I agree with most of the spoilered posts, the movie very much delivered IMO. Great nostalgia, not too much new stuff to take away from the feel of the SW universe, amazing visuals and sounds that are updated but again, still stay true to Star Wars. I think J.J. Abrams nailed it and there's plenty more to come! |

Daniel Craig is in the movie... Spoiler! so is simon pegg lawls |
is the movie worth the watch in ultraavx/3d? i'm not a fan of 3d as the effects start to give me a headache after a while. hoping that if i watch the regular version of it that it wont take away from the movie at all. |

For me, biggest reason to go AVX is the reserved seating and not having to stand in line for hours to get the seat you want. But then for an extra $5 you can go VIP and get the full pampering experience :) |
